A clipping has been sent me clipped from your honored paper of the 17th of May. It deals with the Kensington stone and who made it. As if the sonte itself did not bear witness thereof. You seem to think that the late former pastor Fogelblad in cooperation with Olof Ohman, the finder of said rune stone, made said stone, whic is not in accordance with the truth. If Fogelblad had made that stone, you can be sure that there wuld have been no mistake in the rune-writing (Runskriften) as now is claimed to b e the case.
Fogelblad was to sincere to fool the public (Lit.: to lead the public back of the light.) and besides he was like all other preachers, too easy-going to do a job like that. Fogelblad died in my home, and I knew him better than most in those parts. (Translator's note: the writer of this article was a neighbor of Mr. Ohman.) But I do not know of any "queer stories" about him. Fogelblad was no "besotted", "deposed" preacher as you say. his letter of resignation, which is still on file (finnes kvar, i.e. extant) says something quite different. He states tha many years of study has brought him to the conclusion that the Swedish Church was founded on dogmas (paastaaenden) confliction with reason, threfore he asked for dismissal as his conscience did not permit him to remain within said church. That was the whole defrocking. As far as the drunkness is concerned, he was not more of a drinker than most of the Christians are nowdays. And it was far between drinks too; he didn't down 'em like many of his slanderers.

Translator's note: The editor of the paper states that the content of the clipping Mr. Andeson writes about was a report of a meeting dealing with the investigation of the Kensington rune stone.
