Some of the Old Buildings
Being the cross roads and the
requist distance from London, Dunstable is rich in old coaching Inns
where the old stage coaches stopped, and other such buildings with
coach yards. Sadly many now are no longer used as hostelries.
A very old one the White Heart - now
for sale after being a Building Society (Bank type thing)
Office
The biggest one - the Old Suger
Loaf, now a youth rave type place, I understand
Somewhat older - The Norman King -
built from an old Norman Long Barn.
Taken from the grounds of the Priory
- The Old Palace Lodge - reputed to be a hark back to when the Kings
used to come here abouts for a spot of hunting.
Now a hostellry with great thoughts
about it'self. OK Pretentious.
