As a child we spent all our summers there, catching crabs with my older brother, and my sister would catch those fire-flies in jars. This website slamming....i enjoy returning to read it especially when i feel homesick. You set a hard precedent to surpass i am proud of your accomplishments (from one Provi alumni to another). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Serious Talk Now~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Can someone tell my why TIDCO seems to be so poorly funded? Why is it I can open the most obscure american magazine and see adverts for B'dos and J'ca but none for Trinbago?? I feel that we have so much potential to attract the foreign visitor and those in authority just seem to drop the ball constantly...Somebody tell me if i am misled? :/ hmmmmm.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Joke time~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So there's this fella with a parrot. And this parrot swears like George Street Jaggabat, he can swear for five minutes straight without repeating himself. Trouble is, the guy who owns him is a quiet, conservative type, and this bird's foul mouth is driving him crazy. One day, it gets to be too much, so the guy grabs the bird by the throat, shakes him really hard, and yells, "QUIT IT!" But this just makes the bird mad and he swears more than ever. Then the guy gets mad and says, "OK for you." and locks the bird in a kitchen cabinet. This really aggravates the bird and he claws and scratches, and when the guy finally lets him out, the bird cuts loose with a stream of invective that would make even the Jaggabats blush. At that point, the guy is so mad that he throws the bird into the freezer. For the first few seconds there is a terrible din. The bird kicks and claws and thrashes. Then it suddenly gets _very_ quiet. At first the guy just waits, but then he starts to think that the bird may be hurt. After a couple of minutes of silence, he's so worried that he opens up the freezer door. The bird calmly climbs onto the man's out-stretched arm and says, "Awfully sorry about the trouble I gave you. I'll do my best to improve my vocabulary from now on." The man is astounded. He can't understand the transformation that has come over the parrot. ....Then the parrot says, "By the way, what did the chicken do?"

Really enjoyed seeing stuff about Trini. Have passed this site on to other american friends I've made and fellow Trinis away from home. Funny how deeply patiotic you get when you're away from de bacchanal. I'm a south gal. Went to Naps Girls and then WI. The latter afforded me such a great opportunity to travel through the neighbouring islands. It was also great to learn about one's back yard, so to say. Now I'm a proficient tourist navigator thru the isles. Seems like I have an unofficial job wit TidCo. I have been in the tourist biz. Wked in Nassau, Jamaica & Provo (just s. of The Bahamas chain) also visited St. Lucia, Antigua & Barbados. I really enjoyed your site bec. it was so personal and real. Proud to be a Trini, am I am glad as hell we don't as much of these racial issues that the US has to deal with.
