STAYING IN the VILLAGE
103 Waverly Place (at Washington Square West) The only RECOMMENDED hotel in Greenwich, the Washington Square Hotel was built in 1961, as the Hotel Earie. Bob Dylan grew up in this hotel. Today, its modest accomidations are popular with dollar-conscious graduate students and young Europeans. Nearly all 180 rooms have been renovated; ask for one overlooking Washington Square. There is no restaurant, porters, or room servic, but the location is perfect if you plan to spend a lot of time in the Village.
