March 11-12 2000 Amber and I had an awesome adventure. The Judds were going to be on a tour for the first time in eight years of Naomi Judd being retired from the music business. Amber and her mom got us tickets. They called all day to get us tickets. It was the perfect weekend. I had the kewlest weekend!!!! I had the best time. I wish I could have gotten better pictures. Mom and I went up the night before right after work and stayed in Shokopee. We had planned to meet Amber and her mom at The Judds K-mart signing in Shokopee, MN. I’m glad that mom and I had come the night before. It was nice that we didn't have to drive into rush to get to Shokopee. It took us five minutes to get there. We got there at 8/8:30. Mom and I first got there. I keep watching for Amber. She got there about five to ten minutes later. As soon as I saw Amber, I had to give her a big hug!!! We were about 20th in line. Amber and her mom stood with mom and me. They gave us our tickets and that’s when it all started to feel real. Amber and Becky were so concern that mom would wear herself out so we bought a lawn chair for her to sit in. We sat around and talked. I talked to a really nice lady in front of us and her husband too. They bought us newspapers with The Judds on the front. They were really nice people. It just was really kewl to meet all these other Judd fans. Around 10 am I think, the gave all of us wristbands to assure that we would get an autographs. The signing wasn’t until 1:00. Around Noon the started to let the public in. The K-mart people let the public stand right in front of the stage where The Judds were sitting so that us who had wrist bands couldn't take pictures. We weren't happy and were complaining a bit. For the signing The Judds's people rushes us thru really really fast though. I tried to snap a few but I just got people.. Augh! Oh well. Roach, Wynonna's Tour manager/boyfriend was standing there greeting everyone at the front of the line. He was in a really good mood. He was joking with people. Amber was in front of me. He was asking everyone their names as he introduce himself. Amber said "I'm Amber" So I said "I'm Amber too." He said "Amber Too? Don't would me Amber Also." I was like, "Yeah." He started joking with me that it would be weird that my middle name would be too. He asked us want Amber middle and was and mine. I got so flustered I couldn't remember my middle name to save my life. It was so funny. Naomi and Wynonna looked so Great!! Their hair is sooo RED right know!!! Man!! and they are so beautiful up close!! Wy had a leopard cowboy hat on. Too kewl. Wy was really quiet though. She seemed overwhelmed by all the people standing around. Be proud of me, I wasn't a crying blubbering idiot up there. I said to Naomi, "This is my dream come true." She smiled at me and said that’s good." I asked to shake her hand and she did. I asked the same of Wynonna and she did. Both of them signed my picture of Wynonna I had. And I had Naomi sign my copy of the children’s book she wrote. Too kewl! My mom cried the whole time. Naomi asked her which Amber was hers. Too kewl. See Im just easy to please. hehe. Then Amber and Becky invited Mom and I to go shopping at the Mall of America and ate at the Rainforest cafe. I thought that was really sweet of them. They were worried about us being alone in the big cities so they showed us around. The Cafe' was soooo good. The food at the Rainforest Cafe' was awesome! We first sat at the Bar and got fruity drinks. We went back to our hotel and I stayed up and talking with Amber and her mom at the hotel on Saturday night. We talked until really late. I stayed until Amber got really sleep. We also went to the mall on Sunday. Its just that big. My mom loved it. She wants to go back. Amber's mom got my mom absolutely addicted to Watermelon Popcorn now! We shopped and had a great time walking around. The whole concert sees like a dream to me!! The concert was Sunday night. We went out for dinner a block from the concert arena with Amber, Becky, their two aunts, and my mom. We all went out to eat right down the street from the concert arena. I got over excited before the concert and didn’t eat. It happens before every concert. I should know better by now right? hehe. oh well. :O) When we went into the concert center, Amber and her mom forgot something in their car and had to go back. So mom and I went ahead to go look at the merchandise they were selling. I abandoning Mom buying Judd stuff. I went a little nuts. hehe I was like a kid in a candy store. It was soooo much fun being able to just buy want ever I wanted. I know I will never get to do anything like that again. So I enjoyed it. I got a jacket a long sleeve shirt, T-shirt, tour book key change and magnates. I blew my whole Christmas bonus. I loved it. I was way too excited before the concert. I even abandon Mom at the get to my seats. Opps!! So I had to go get her. Our seats were great!!!! Amber and I were sitting right next to each other. We were in the perfect spot other than being right up front. I love it!!! It was like a perfect moment for 2 hours. Jodee Messina opened. Jodee Messina was good too but man!! The Judd show is mind-blowing. They came out singing Love Can Build a Bridge. I was like, okay how are they going to top sing that, especial at the closing of the show. But Man!!!! They well wove Wy's solo songs and judd songs and the news stuff together. They did several dress changes. Well Wy did shoes and jackets, Naomi did the works. Oh my.... Wy came out once on her HARLEY!!! To sing Wyld Unknown. I loved the pictures that they narrated. At the end they came out to a little stage at the back of arena and sang. I got lots of pictured there. Then they went back up front and Naomi came out in a fairy costume with a tiara and wand, She was throwing glitter everywhere!!!! I was laughing so hard. Wy kept saying "hey you in the Tiara!! and She is soo weird" Oh and they were in such great moods. They were laughing and Joking. Right before they were to start to sing Why not me they were joking and laughing around. Naomi got the giggles and couldn’t stop. Every time she looked at Wy she would loose it. Wy keep egging her on to laugh harder. Wy told her, "Mama your ruining a beautiful song," in this voice that made Naomi laugh harder. Naomi finally had to get up and walk over to the backup singers to calm down so they could start. It was hysterical!! There is so much at the concert that I cant explain it all. It was awesome! Both Amber and I laughed and cried. It was a dream come true. We both danced in the isle and sang to the songs. IT was soo awesome. It made me feel more a live than I have in a looong time. They sang freedom at the very end to close the show. The concert was just too awesome. I cant believe what a well rounded show it was! It was perfect. It was so awesome to be there with Amber! I had so much fun dance with Amber! I didnt want the night to end. When it was time to leave, I gave her a big hug. Neither of us wanted to go home but we knew we had to. My mom and I did get home until 3:30 am. We hit a bit of snow on the roads home. I was soo tired but it was worth the fun. :O)
