Safety
Mention when I said Scratching Post, get one the would be safe for your kitty. If you get a tower (or big post) actually nail it to the ground. A lesson I learned on behalf of another cat owner's experience, the post fell over, crushing her cat's head. So buyer beware: Please think of all safety hazards with purchasing one of these.
For a kitten, get them a box or some enclosed area where they will be able to hide or have quiet time. This is neccessary. Also things we don't see that are hazards, a cat might see and hurt itself. Crawl around on the ground and you would be surprised of the unsafe things you may see, especially from your kitty's veiw.
Please keep your pets inside especially on Halloween. Cats have been the subject of many so called "pranks" otherwise known as attacks on this particular day.

If I could give you any advice, it would be to spay or neuter your pet, get your cat's ear tattooed, and put a collar on him. If you want your pet to be a indoor pet, you can still attach him to a harness and let him roam, just don't forget about him! Cats are natural outdoor pets, and may try to escape. Watch the door when you or someone else leaves the house.
