    ~*A Word From the Staff*~
Hey guys, what's up? Tracey here! I recently saw the Wilkinsons at Winstock (June 8th), and let me tell ya they're better than ever! Tyler sure has grown up, his voice was even lower and definitely more polished. They only sang for about 45 minutes *was supposed to be aroudn an hour but they came on late so that's probably why* After the show I went to the meet and greet, and after that I interviewed them for this very newsletter *how exciting is that?* Steve, Amanda, and Tyler were fun to interview...lemme tell you the transcripts hilarious *which you'll soon find out* :0) I know I've said it before but for all you new members I'll say it again, if you've never met the Wilkinsons I hope you all get a chance to someday. They are such a sweet family, totally genuine and down to earth. They're just awesome! And yesterday I saw the A*Teens at Mall of America, met them too! And I just got front row seats for their show in August here, I can't wait!!!!!!!! Okay I'll shut up now and get on with the newsletter, LOTS of news for ya this month, new pics, AND the interview transcript!

    -The Word's President

    ~*What's Happenin' at The Office...Word News*~
We decided to cut some of the columns, to make this newsletter more professional *and shorter* so with that we're sorry to inform you all that Kate and Jennifer, our two Jr. Columnists have been let go. From now on it will be Tracey and Vanessa for the newsletter, and Jake for the site. Thanks for what help you've already given us though girls.

    ~*Yes We've Got It...The Wilkinsons Latest News*~
The Wilkinsons weren't able to make it to Fan Fair due to "previous engagements". Sorry to those of you that went and wanted to see them.

Don't know when "Nobody Died" is going to be released. Probably not for awhile because *and here is the big news*

This was on countrystars.com the other day:

Q: What happened to the Wilkinsons? They had signed to BNA Records late last year but their name is no longer on the label website. Did they get dropped from the label already? (Jeremy, Newton, IL)

A: Jeremy, not long ago I spoke with the Wilkinsons and they were just finishing up their new album for BNA. However something has happened in the interim. As you observed, they are not listed on the roster. That means either BNA did not like the album or The Wilkinsons were not happy with suggested changes or delays in releasing it. A call to BNA (labels rarely talk about departing acts) revealed only that they have either been dropped from the label, or are still on the label but have been given permission to shop for a new deal. Keep checking in with my daily news (Nashville Update) at CountryStars.com to see where they end up.

Best of luck to Steve, Amanda, and Tyler. We'll support you guys no matter what. I'm sure they'll find a new, better label soon they're much to talented not too.

    ~*Good Ole Articles*~
This month we've got something very special for you all, a Word exclusive *you won't see this anywhere else* Tracey's interview with the Wilkinsons! If you submitted any questions to us we used a few so check to see if we used yours *if we didn't use yours we're sorry Tracey only had 15 minutes with them and it was impossible to ask them all so we picked what we thought you'd like to know*

Tracey: We're here with the Wilkinsons at Winsted Minnesota at Winstock.
First question is from Ethan. A lot of people are disappointed that won't make it to Fan Fair this year. Does this mean that we can expect an onslaught of publicity more than you've had so far? (Ethan)
Steve: Expect a which? I missed your question.
    Tracey: Onslaught of publicity.
Steve: Oh more publicity um I'm not exactly sure what the question is uh we just…we had previous arrangements, that's why we can't do Fan Fair this year.
Amanda: That's the first one we actually haven't done for like years and you know we're really s….(don't know the word it's not sad though) that we couldn't do it (Tyler: Yeah) but you know people are keeping us pretty busy so. (Steve: Yeah)
Tracey: Alright when will the next single and the new album be out?
Steve: That's a good question. Probably Probably later this year you can expect a single.
Amanda: We've just been taking extra time to make sure that we get it right (Steve: Yeah) cuz we just don't want to put it out there when it's not the way we want it.

Tracey: What can we expect on it? (Jessica G.)
Steve: Well you heard some of the songs today.
    Tyler: Yep!
Steve: Some of the songs like Fade.
    Steve and Amanda: And Happy
Steve: There's a really wonderful ballad on there that has a message about violence in schools.
    Tracey: Nobody Died
    Steve: Nobody Died exactly.
Tracey: I heard it on the Opry.
    Steve: Oh great!

Tracey: How have you grown as individuals and a group since the beginning of your career in music? (Lauren J.)
Steve: 2 of them are taller
    Tyler: Yep
Amanda: A lot taller yeah you know we've grown a lot it's like it's weird for us you know because even though we're growing as a group we're growing as you know a family going through stuff. When we first put out our first single I was 16 and now I'm 20 so a lot changes in that time period and…
Steve: (to Tyler) It's your turn.
Tracey: How does it make you feel as Canadians to see the US and Canada unite as a whole after the 9/11 attacks and what are your overall thoughts? (Jake)
Steve: Well I think anybody that enjoys freedom and is against the terrorism that we saw September 11th whether they are Canadian or American should stand up against it.
    Tyler: Yeah
Tracey: Alright this one's for Tyler and Amanda. Even though you have your careers already chosen do you ever what's going to be down the road for you in the future? Do you plan on keep singing with the Wilkinsons or is there anything else you'd like to do? (Kellyn)
Tyler: We hope to keep on singing with the Wilkinsons as long as possible you know. Nothings…
    Amanda: Set in stone
Tyler: Set in stone we'll be there forever but
Amanda: As long as people want to hear us but we're also individuals so we'll see what happens
Tyler: Music will definitely be a part of our lives though

Tracey: For Steve and Amanda…are you guys going to get a fan email address like Tyler has? (Angel)
Steve: Are we going to get what?
Tracey: A fan email address like Tyler has.
Steve: You know I probably won't I answer some of the mail that comes to our website but these guys do it more than I do.
Tracey: Ok this one is for Tyler and Amanda too. Are you guys single and have you ever had a crush on a fan?
Amanda: Um…Tyler you're single the moment aren't you?
Tyler: Yeah I'm single at the moment. It's I don't know I get crushes so easily it's probably a crush a minute so…
Amanda: Yeah who's that new girl you like? From uh Dark Angel?
Tyler: Oh Jessica Alba! Yeah Yeah!
Amanda: *teases Tyler can't make out what she's saying* Right now I'm kind of seeing somebody. Nothing…it's not serious. I'm not getting married anytime soon.
Tracey: Can you give us a name?
    Amanda: Um...No I'd rather...not *laughs*
Tracey: Ok that's fine. What do you obsess over? (Vanessa)
    Steve: Pardon?
Tracey: What do you obsess over?
    Tyler: Nothing really.
    Steve: Oh yes he does.
Tyler: Prove it. Prove it. Prove it.
Tracey: Yeah you do Star Wars!
Tyler: Well not anymore I've sorta…
Tracey and Tyler: Lord of the Rings.
    Amanda: Lord of the Rings
Tyler: Lord of the Rings now, videogames
    Amanda: videogames
    Steve: and guitar playing
    Amanda: girls
    Tyler: girls
Amanda: girls…um I think for me probably um I'm a girlie girl so probably like clothes, makeup anything like that but I think also uh uh sunflower seed junkie
Tracey: This one's for Steve. Besides compliments as a songwriter and a singer how does it make you feel as a parent for someone to come up to you from a fans perspective and compliment you on your kids saying they're great role models or you've done a great job raising them? (Keri)
Steve: I'm proud of my kids, they are great role models. Whether or not they can sing or not. They're good people and they treat one another and other people with respect.
Tracey: Ok Amanda you've said you had a shoe fetish. How many pairs of shoes do you own?
Amanda: Probably like 40 I'm not as big as some of the artists who have like millions of pairs like Mariah Carey but I'm working my way up.
Tracey: Alright Tyler do you have a license and a car yet?
Tyler: I have a license, I've had one for a year and a half now but I don't have a car yet
    Tracey: Any you're looking at?
Tyler: Ah no I'm sorta looking you know I'm a guy I always look at cars but nothing real serious right now. We've got three vehicles at the house right now so…
Steve: He gets a vehicle whenever he wants
Tyler: I get to choose whichever one I want
Tracey: Describe each other in three words

Steve: Each of them in three words? Um lets see Tyler sensitive, manic, and comical.
Tyler: Who do I get to describe which one?
    Amanda: me
    Tracey: Do Amanda
Steve: Oh Amanda um…well she's mature, she's mature, sweet, and real.
    Amanda: Goofy real goofy!
    Tyler: Goofy!
    Steve: Yeah
Amanda: Um I think for Tyler I'd have to say…a little stable, unstable *laughs* and um…
Steve: He never cleans up the stables
Amanda: *laughs* yeah never cleans up the stables *Steve laughs* No I think that's he's really uh he is goofy, he's really sweet, and um…he is uh he's athletic yeah.
Tyler: I don't know they've tooken all the good words.
Amanda: I think for dad I'd have to say you're strong, humble, and a geek. He's a geek *something or other*
    Tyler: a geek
Amanda: geekdom (I dunno can't tell)
Tyler: Um for Manda let me see…chauffer *Amanda and Tyler laugh*
Amanda: Bad one that one's *something or other*
Tyler: I don't know um lets see…weird, probably I gotta take dads mature cuz she's the most mature one out of all of us and um caring and dad he's probably…
    Amanda: goofy
Tyler: cheesy, sort of funny *Amanda laughs*
    Amanda: and lovable!
Tyler: and oh yeah he's a devastatingly handsome man *laughs with Amanda*
Tracey: What annoys you about each other?
Steve: (to Tyler) He's a pig. (to Amanda) She hogs the bathroom. Tyler: Yeah. I don't know…what annoys me about Amanda? Her shopping complex.
Amanda: He gets tired of me shopping.
Tyler: Especially when I go with her.
    Amanda: What about dad?
    Steve: I'm a procrastinator.
    Tyler: No his cheesy jokes.
    Steve: Bad bad jokes.
Amanda: I think for me what bugs me about Tyler is um is is is is he'll go on and on he'll talk about stuff for like ever like it's nice that's he's really excited about stuff sometimes you're like "DUDE dude we saw the movie too!"
Steve: Is there a caboose to the train?
Amanda: Yeah is there a caboose to this train.
    Tracey: That's what I do!
Amanda: Yeah and I think for dad when he gets you up in the morning and he's so happy in the morning and it bugs the crap outta you cuz ur like "DUDE it's 8 o'clock in the morning you can't be this chipper!"

*Note about this question: Tyler and Amanda kept giving each other looks like "you better watch what you say, hey I'm not that!" It was cute :)

Tracey: Amanda and Tyler do you plan on playing any instruments onstage anytime soon?
Tyler: It's already in the works.
Amanda: Yeah I actually picked up the base and keys and Tyler's playing the electric guitar.
Tracey: Any new country artists you're fans of?
    Steve: Any any…
    Amanda: That we're fans of.
    Steve: That we're fans of?
Amanda: Nickel Creek, Nickel Creek I love them
Tyler: Nickel Creek um Rascal Flatts of course and uh lets see Cindy Thompson whoo!
Tracey: What about Tommy Shane Steiner?
Amanda: Yeah we're fans of him.
    Tyler: Cool guy.
    Amanda: Good guy.
Tracey: I talked to him and he said you guys were awesome.
    Amanda: Aw
    Tyler: Yeah
    Amanda: He's a nice guy.
Tyler: We've hung out a couple of times, he's a great guy.
Tracey: Ok last question, do you have any messages to give to the Word members in my newsletter?
Steve: Please be patient there will be new Wilkinson music out there.
    Tyler: Yeah definately.
Amanda: And we'd like to thank you guys for sticking with us. Everytime we see you guys out on the road you know whether it's doing shows at the Opry in town or out on the road. On the internet everyone's so supporting and loving we can't thank you enough.
    Tyler: Yeah.
Steve: (to Tyler) It's your turn.
Tyler: What do I wanna say? Keep emailing me!
    Steve: Keep emailing.
Tyler: I'm sorry I don't get to email back as often as possible but…
Tracey: How many do you get?
    Steve: A lot!
    Amanda: A lot!
    Tyler: A lot! I I
Steve: He doesn't answer them all but he reads everyone one of them.
    Tracey: Okay thank you!

So what do you guys think? Thanks to everyone who's questions we used, and those we didn't. Added with our own questions there were around 100 we had to narrow down from lol. We're working on getting it on the Words site so you can actually listen to it. When we do we'll let you know.

~*The Special Person of the Month*~
June's fan of the month is...Amber! Congratulations. If you would like to be fan of the month fill out the form on our website and send it on in. Here is part of Amber's entry.

    Name: Amber-Dawn
    Current Residence: Indianapolis, IN
    Age: 18
How long you've been a fan? Since 8th grade, I'm a senior now
Fave Wilkinson memory: Interviewing them for my HS newspaper. It was tons of fun and they are so down to earth. (*Tracey note "I had to add this in there since I interviewed them *smiles*")
What's the most devoted thing you've done to support the Wilkinsons? I totally have advertised for them...but I also think when I drove to Aurora from Indy and waited in line for 5 hours for a chair in the freezing cold in jeans and a t-shirt was pretty devoted.
Why should you be fan of the month? I just think everyone should get a chance to be fan of the month, we all deserve it for supporting a band that completely rocks. They're not fake unlike some bands (no names mentioned), and they are so awesomely normal it's unbelievable

    ~*It's YOUR Birthday*~
    June 4th - Lauren
    July 24th - Liz

Do you have a birthday coming up? Email us and we'll put it in an upcoming issue.

~*So One Wilkinson Said To Another*~
"Are you getting Alzheimers?" - Tyler
    "No." - Amanda
"PMS!" - someone in the crowd *laughter*
"Whoever said that I like them!" - Tyler
    "Not this week." - Amanda
"No she's just in a real bad mood." - Steve
