Mike was augmented for the first half of WestPac 2000, so he was lucky enough to spend three and a half months away from the boat and attend some training schools in Pearl Harbor. Once he returned to the boat on Christmas Eve (yes, they flew him out on Christmas Eve), he then spent the next month visiting liberty ports, including Yokosuka, Japan (where he met the boat), Singapore, and Hong Kong. The photos you can see on the associated pages were partly taken by other members of the boat and partly by Mike; if you really want credits, you can ask.
