Thillana

 Mukundan

Give me a laundry list and I'll set it to music.
--Gioacchino Antonio Rossini

Now, that is precisely what Mukundan and Rossini would have in common. Known and well liked for his compositions, he is steadily carving a name for himself as an intense composer with some brilliant pieces to his credit. His labor of love, Pranava, true to its meaning, transforms mere notes into a blissful divine consciousness.

At the age of 19, Mux, as he is fondly called, found a platform in the IIT Madras Music band to explore his latent talents as a musician. He did extremely well in the Indian light music scene as a keyboardist for many well-known artists and TV shows. His love affair with the ivories started with Jazz in school to the Classical piano training that he is presently undergoing under the tutelage of Dr. Irina Prilipko-Morgan.

He has performed in many state-level piano recitals, and has made his mark as a soloist and composer. Significant among his accomplishments is his first prize in the Composer's Today competition conducted by The Music Teacher's Association of California for his composition Pranava. He has to his credit the music score of "For Straights Only" a documentary by Atlanta-based People TV and also for a couple of plays staged in the bay area

In addition, Mux is one of the lead singers of Thillana with the amazing capability to reproduce the voices of a number of male artistes.
