Thillana

 Revathi

I'm young, I'm wild, and I'm free. I got the magic power of the music in me.

- Triumph, Magic Power

It is a treat to see Revathi on stage. Her performances are ‘Rev’ved up with so much ‘Panch’, that you have no choice but to dance to her tunes!

Though she started training formally only four years back, her passion for music comes from growing up in a music-oriented family. Her need to be surrounded by music gravitated her towards help forming a band to channelize her talents, love and passion for the art.

She has been singing light music for years (was part of her college band). However, recent emphasis has been on classical music and practice. Revathi is pursuing Hindustani Classical lessons from Shubangi Sakhalkar. She has accompanied her Guru in a few concerts. Prior to this she learnt music under Dr. Lakshmi Ganesh Tiwari.

She and her husband Panch (co-Thillanite) provide a very hospitable and conducive atmosphere at their home for Thillana members to practice and discuss music. An extremely creative person, she has her fingers in a million pies.  Her enthusiasm and energy for life is very contagious. Revathi is perennially high on life.
