Research Laboratory

Actually I started my chemical research since I was a little boy.  "Instant Noodle", yes, it's cooking.  Do you ever think about there are a lot of chemical reaction when you cook!?

In 1990, I was admitted by The University of Hong Kong, and my major was - CHEMISTRY.

I started my "first" research project (summer research) in 1991.  At that time, I worked in Prof. C.M. Che's group on synthesizing porphyrin ligands.

In 1992 summer, I worked with Prof. Ronald Tse (retired) on spark emission spectroscopy.

In 1993-1997, I was a graduate student at Prof. Vivian Yam's group.  Photochemistry of Rhenium (I) system was my Ph.D. project.

In Aug 2001, I back to chemical research lab and work for Prof. Long for a year in the field of magnetism.

Currently I work in Yam's lab as  a Honorary Research Fellow.

Research Interest:

Mixed valence electron transfer mechanism;

Photo-magnetic properties of mixed valence systems;

Langumir-Blodgett film base molecular electronics;

Single molecular magnet
