The old port neighborhood of La Boca saw lots of immigration from Italy around the turn of the century. It's where the Tago was born. As then, the neighborhood today is basically a slum. In one part, "El Caminito" a short alley along the disgustingly polluted Riachuelo, all the corrugated metal buildings have been painted bright colors. The place is one of Buenos Aires' few tourist traps. It sort of feels a bit like Fisherman's Warf in San Francisco. Still, if you've got highly color saturated film, it can be a great photo spot.
I took this photo in March of 2000 with a Pentax K1000, 2.0/50mm lens.
