This is another excellent book
for someone starting into the art of the blacksmith. I particularly found
the tips on making your own tools to be excellent. I found the book
informative and helpful in showing how to get the best from a very few
tools and a simple set up. I would recommend this book as a companion to
The Art of Blacksmithing.

Practical
Blacksmithing and Metalworking

Another good work on this fascinating
subject. the author looks at the history of blacksmithing, introduces
tools, materials, and techniques, and shows how to make hardware, tools,
and decorative ironwork. It seems that the more I read on the art and
craft of the smith the more I want to learn.

The Complete
Modern Blacksmith
By Alexander G Weygers ISBN 0898158966 |

This is an excellent book. it
covers everything from tools to techniques, forge design to making your
own custom anvil. I have personally read and re-read this book, and would recommend
it to anyone interested in blacksmithing or other types of
metalwork, This book is most assuredly a valuable resource. Mr.
Weygers technique for passing on this skill and art through a printed text
is one of the best. I like his emphasis on scrounging and recycling raw
material, and making as much of your own tooling as possible, even an
anvil.
