Cod and Haddock were once treated as "seasonal" produce and now they are in the shops all the year round.  Over-fishing is endangering many indigenous species around the world.  As soon as one species becomes the subject or preservation, attention moves to another, but it is good to see a greater number of species available.  Its easy to make pro-conservation comments if one is not a fisherman.  Some attempts are being made to farm Cod and Haddock.
