Travel

There are travel opportunities both in this country and abroad - to Cyprus, Germany or even America on the International Air Cadet Exchange scheme. Twice a year, at Easter and in the Summer, cadets have the opportunity to spend time at a Royal Air Force Station, learning about life and work in the RAF and sampling some of the more exciting things in life.

Overseas Camps

Every Summer, there are opportunities for a selective number of cadets to visit RAF stations abroad.  There are camps in Germany and  Cyprus just to mention two. The actual cost will vary, but is only the cost of the air fare and you will have to take spending money.

UK Camps

At Easter and in the Summer, each Squadron can select cadets to attend a weeks camp at a RAF station in the UK.  The venue is different every year and the activities on offer will depend on the RAF station concerned.  One year you could be chatting with the crew of the Red Arrows and the following year flying with Search and Rescue crew.  You will have the opportunity of visiting and working alongside regular RAF personnel - in the station armoury or perhaps with the RAF Regiment, riding in armoured personnel carriers and tanks. Also, there are first class sports facilities at each station with professional instructors to train and supervise you.
