ThunderRoad Speedway Rule Book

In addition to the General Rules shown below, be sure to check and follow the rules for each specific class. The General Rules apply to all classes. Class rules are additional, specific rules for that class only, and both must be followed.
General Rules
Procedures:
1. All cars must pass freely through the tech block for the width designated for the class.
2. Cars may be substituted between races, but not during the race. When substituting a car for the one you qualified with, the new car will be re-qualified, or you will be put at the bottom of the qualifying ladder, at the discretion of the race director.
3. Qualifying will take place for a one minute on track period, with the fastest lap counting as determined by the track computer.
4. Drivers must use the car they timed in for that race.
5. A restart will occur if any car fails to start at the starting line.
6. Let the spotters fix desloted cars.
7. The complete car must weigh from 18 grams to 23.4 grams (see class rules).
8. Track calls are permitted by drivers or turn marshals only for cars on the floor or out of reach of a track marshal. Excessive track calls will not extend allotted race time per heat.
9. There will be no drinking, smoking or swearing at the track, this is for fun and family.
10. Do not abuse the turn marshals - it is not their fault your car came off.
11. Unless your mother came with you, pick up after yourself.

Body Rules:
1. The body must completely cover the chassis when viewed from above except for legal stock openings (ie. windows and vents). Tires may not protrude through tops of fenders, nor be taller than top of fender. Fenders may not be "bubbled." (see exceptions in ThunderRod class)
2. Each body must have a front windshield and rear window (side optional) and be complete with bumpers, heads, roll bars, etc., as originally manufactured. Windows may be glued into window openings and must substantially fill the window opening. Lexan may be used to replace original window material. (see exceptions in ThunderRod class)
3. The body must be of the hard shell variety (see exception in ThunderRod class), originally manufactured with two screw posts conducive for mounting to the Thunderjet chassis (e.g. Aurora, Model Motoring, Bauer, Faller, Atlas, Playing Mantis, HO Detroit, Road Race Replicas, MEV originals, or resin cast reproductions of originals). See class rules for bodies allowed in each class.
4. The body may be lowered and lightened but not be weighted, shortened, chopped, or sectioned. Side panels of car must be stock height. (see exceptions in ThunderRod and ThunderStreet class)
5. Fenderwells may be cut for tire clearance provided body rule #1 is not violated.
6. Two screws must be used to mount the body to the chassis. Screw heads may be ground down for track clearance. (see exceptions in ThunderRod class)
7. Hardtop cars such as Falcons and Mustangs may remove the interiors.
8. Wheel wells may not be cut to allow changes to the original wheel base. (see exceptions in ThunderRod class)
9. Screw posts may be cut to lower body. (see exception in ThunderStreet Class)
10. Split screw posts may be repaired or replaced with plastic, in original position, but no metal sleeves are permitted.
