Lady and Steele love to ride in the truck!
I tell people I have a "lap dog" . . . I do!
He just weighs 120 pounds!
This is Steele at his first weight pull on snow
in leavenworth, in January 1999.
Steele managed to pull just shy of 800lbs on some
real poor snow conditions.
This is Sugar (the bigger one) and Missy... they
belong to Pam's brother Brian
Chris and Steele on Mt. Pilchuck . . . hey Steele,
look this way . . . sheese!
This is Kellie a greyhound that my parents used
to have. They adopted her from Greyhound Pets.. This Picture
was taken atop the lookout tower above Scheiber's Meadows on Mt. Baker.
This is me in my truck Two days after Christmas
1996. One of the only times I can remember not having to drive TO
the snow.
About a week later all the snow had melted.
This is Tieka and Steele. Tieka is a Wolf/husky/malamute-mix
Although Malamutes are not described as guard dogs
. . . I do not doubt that they would protect their owners, (their
pack), as was the case when we lived in downtown Everett. My wife
Pam was leaving for work early one morning when a mentally disturbed man
came on to our property shouting obscenities and making like he was going
to attack my wife. Pam said she never heard Steele Growl or any thing
until that is, that Steele was on top of the man. Pam called Steele
off but not before Steele managed to get a piece of this man's heavy winter
coat as a souvenir. The man got up and wisely ran away. . . We later
called the police. So to all you would-be Rapists and Mentally Ill
people out there, when you see a sign with the picture of a Doberman or
a Rottwieller or a Pit Bull, and it says that you have three seconds to
make to the fence, be thank ful that the sign does not bear the picture
of a Malamute, because . . . I f you think you have three seconds, YOU'RE
WRONG!
