Brief History and the listed talents of Master Jigme Namgyal follows

His brief history follows:
He was born in Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet. His family comprises the parents and a younger sister there. When he was seven, his parents had introduced him to one of the chinese school in Lhasa in which there are forbidden to learn his own langauge and culture. Hence there were deprived of learning his own langauges and there are stressed only to learn the Chinese languages. When he had completed his fifth standard at the said school, He could managed to escape Tibet on his bare foot with his parents. The journey includes the laborous task of crossing the lofty mountains, harsh rivers, terrians and rocky areas for around eight days and nights.

Finally in 1986, He had the privileges of getting admission in one of there Tibetan school founded by His Holiness at Mussoorie, India. It was here in school that he was startled to learn that Tibet once was a free nation and He was misinformed by his parents on the pretext that his life could be under threat if they showed the fact to us. Here he had the oppotunity of learning the various customs and traditions of Tibet. The Chinese had played the ugly game on us by not showing the facts to the Tibetan youngsters in Tibet. He is still pained to learn that all his childhood friends in Tibet are not aware of this fact. So he felt the learning and promotion of his own culture a must. During his stay in school, He kept the culture of Tibet in the forefront and He had learned to the best of his knowledge. He was among the prime insturment player of his school band group. He had passed his matriculation in the year 1996 and it was one day when he was informed that there was vacancy at the perstigious institution of TIPA. There he was selected from among the cluster of forty candidates and since then he was here further studying the aspects of ancient old tradition of Tibet. It was always his genuine interest that he should bring out a musical album carrying the messages of Tibet's status, freedom songs, and many more through his own voice and music. He also wished to raise the awareness among the Tibeten people the idea of universal brotherhood.

Sometime, He also teach the students of TCV School at Dharamsala, which is also established by His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. He wished to fed in them not only the culture but also the very aspects of all including the langauge and the mode of traditional dresses of the different regions of Tibet for His longed them to be fully developed in Tibetan culture unlike himself when he was a small kid in Tibet.

At the end July 10th 2002 Mr.Jigme Namgyal had to leave the institute as there was always threat to his family members in Tibet from the Chinese authority since TIPA strategically hold important place in Exile Tibetan government's activity for its preserves and promotes Tibetan arts and culture at international level. Though he had already left TIPA, but the spirit of his artistic caliber always remained with him for he is continuing his artistic profession in order to preserve and promote them so that the unique culture of Tibet remain a fresh one.


The listed talents of Master Jigme Namgyal follows
1. Teach various Tibet's children's songs of all the provinces.The program includes 'Shon' 'kyirong' and 'Toeshay',which are extremely popular among the Tibetan Children. The respective songs carried their unique mapping,dressing, mind-blowing steps, tunes and music.

2. Teach adult's songs from the three provinces of tibet like 'Dranyen shapdro' which is full of catchy steps accompanied by the unique Tibetan lute.'Chama Kyisa' a dance from the popular region of Khamthat is performed along with the Tibatan Filter(Peiwang). the song had its place during the special occasion like the birth day of HH the Dalai Lama, and 'Sertri ngasol'a song from amdo region of Tibet and it is performed during the anniversary celebration of Enthronement of the His Holiness in Tibet.

3. Present workshop on Tibetan musical instruments like lute, flute, pewang,mandoling,ducima and others.

4. Teach Tibetan nomadic songs with flute and 'Khamlu' the songs from Eastern Tibet.

5. Opera songs, which involves a lot of vibrating tunes. The songs areaccompanied by drums and cymbal. Tibetan operas are known all over the world for its religious significance. It involves an opera theatre system where the artiste can perform on the open space.

6. Present various Tibetan regional solo songs with different instruments.

7. Present modern Tibetan and Hindu songs accompanied by instrumental tracks played down from the tapes particularly to attract the youngster audiences in exile.

8. Perform stage acting, which carried several social messages influxed with comedy.


Mr. Jigme's Achievements
1. He had given his tune to TIPA'S yearly modern Album 'Aa-Ka-Ma-2000' and 'Aa-Ka-Ma-2002'. Since he is one of the key artists of TIPA'S Aa-Ka-Ma Band, he had given several numbers of live show as well.

2. He is known for his talent as a role of 'Drelker', an auspicious Tibetan begger. One can still hear him in TIPA'S musical album 'Key Key So So'.

3. He is well versed in Tibetan opera which is very popular all over the world.

4. He played the key artiste of TIPA'S Comic-Drama 'Godroeh Taamling'.

5. He hed lent his unique voice in the famous Bollyhood film SHAHID, a movie on India's freedom struggle. TIPA had dubbed the movie in Tibetan version in the year 1999.

6. He hed acted in TIPA'S first movie, TSAMPAI SHENKOK in the year-2000.

7. He is one of the key video artiste if TIPA'S yearly home production 'Yarkyi series'S
