U.S. Tibet School Project

Our aim is to build, renovate, or otherwise help 108 schools in Tibet.
The goals of the Tibetan School Project is to help preserve Tibetan language and culture by providing basic education to the children of Tibet.
The objectives include: teaching students the basic skills of reading, writing, math and science; educating Tibetan children in their native language and culture; providing a medical dispensary to serve the basic medical needs of the children and the surrounding communities; and provide nourishing meals for students and to teach them basic gardening skills through work in the school garden, greenhouse and with school livestock.
The U.S.-Tibetan Society for School and Culture and its sister organization, the Swedish Tibetan Society for School and Culture, non-profit organizations founded in 1988, have been active in the field of education in Tibet since 1993.
Since the autumn of 2000, 56 of the 108 schools have been completed.
Making the Tibetan School Project a reality requires the commitment of individuals around the world who want to make a difference.
