Tiffany Scott and Philip Dulebohn are no longer taking from Karl Kurtz. They will still continue to train at the University of Delaware, but will now be taking lessons from Isabelle Brasseur and Rocky Marvel.
After Long Program in D.C.
Scott and Dulebohn had one of the best free skates of their careers with only minor problems — a bump coming out of the twist and a brush with the boards following the throw triple toe. They had no problems with their side-by-side jumps, which Dulebohn fell on in the short program. Before they even finished the program, the crowd was on its feet.
“That was a nice way to end the season,” Dulebohn said. “It was great to get a standing ovation and to share this night with our friends and family.”
The program was going so well that even her brush with the boards didn’t concern Scott.
“I think it was a combination of the adrenaline and that we’re used to skating on a wider rink,” she said. “I just couldn’t control myself.”
Scott said she had a good feeling about the free skate all day and came into the competition relaxed and calm.
“I’ve felt good about this since leaving the hotel,” she said. “We were prepared, we’ve been practicing well and consistently all week.”
