Ch.2
by Amber T.

After awhile of lying around, I knew that that kind of quit wouldn't last long. The next thing I
knew, we got that call. We were in our gear, in the Ecto 1 and out the door before anyone could
ask what we where dealing with. As the juiced up hearse screamed through down town New
York, someone finely broke the silence. "So what are we up against, huh? A demon position, one
whacked out Easter bunny huh, what?!" Gar says with a lot of enthusiasm. I knew he love this
job. "To be honest Garrett, I'm not sure." Roland says. Soon we rolled up to the given address.
Unloaded and strapped our gear on, Garrett was the lucky one. No sore legs for him, this stuff was heavy.

As I reached for the door, a raving woman scrambled up to us and stopped me. "Don't go in
there!" she cries. As I turned to face her, I could see the look of a freighted lam in her eyes. "We
here to help ma'am." I tell her calmly with a smile. The panic somewhat leaves her eyes. "Be
careful." She tells us, her lip still trembling with fear. "Ma'am we're always careful. We‘re
professionals." Eduardo tells her while trying to sound soave at the same time. With that we
walked in slowly, keeping a steady eye around us.

"They must of cleared the building." says Garrett, he was right. It was so quite that the only
sound one could hear was the sound of our gear on our backs. As we walked down the corridor, I
could hear with my sensitive ears a faint sharpening sound. "We need to turn at the next right." I
tell them. Taking a guess that our target might be down that way. "How do you know?" Gar asks
me. "Do I really need tell you." I say. He just looked at me with the kind of look that,
he knows, he just wanted to hear me say it, kind of looks.

Then, as we turn the corner the sharpening sound only gets louder. As we walk on I'm able to
tell what the sound is. Knives! Big ones! I have everyone stop before we moved around the next
corner. I took a peek to see if what we're looking for is there. By now the sharpening sound is
very close. Almost as if someone was nervously sharpening some large hunting knife. To my
amazement the sound was coming from a hand of knives. Warblade, what in the world are the
Wild C.A.T.s doing here?! I say to myself as I continue to look on.

It's not like them to show up with a ghost or goblin running about. Goblin….. oh no! Daemonites!
No wonder the C.A.T.s are here! I turn to the others and try to tell them that the Wild C.A.T.s
are taking care of the problem. But the others are as stubborn as rocks. By now the C.A.T.s
have picked the lock and made their way into a room. And the GB’s plowed past me headed for
the room without me. Right before I could stop the, there came the sound of fighting from the
room. The NGB's stood at the door with wide eyes. The C.A.T.s had already started the fight
with the Daemonite. It won't last long outside its host and was desperate to find a new one. Just
then it spotted us. The creature darted fast for us. I pulled everyone away in time, letting it
slam into the wall, out cold. Before anyone could ask anything, the Daemonite was back in its
container and sealed. "What are you all doing here?" Spartan asks with a grim tone. I simply look
between the two groups and dust myself off as I stand. I could already tell there was going to be trouble.

This is the problem with having two hero groups living in the same city. "Take a wild guess
Spartan." I say with a smirk, he hated when I was a smart ass. "The NGB"s were called on this
ugly slim." I point to the container with our so called ghost rested. "Yeah! So why are you here?"
says Gar. Oh, no, that hot head. "Quit Gar. I'll deal with this, ok?" I tell him, giving him that look.
"Fine" he says with a bit of a groan and wheels himself back to his own team. "This doesn't
involve you." Spartan says with a growl. With that the Wild C.A.T.s turn and start for the lobby.
I wasn’t done yet and started after them. But before I could reach them, they were gone. The
GB's weren't that far behind me. "Well, looks like I'll be paying the Halo building a visit." With a
sigh I head for the car. "This is going to be a long day."
