Chapter Fourteen I stayed closed up in the room the rest of the day. Carly was leaving the next day and she was spending the day with Chris. Lance and Justin had gone shopping and JC was trying to talk to Joey. Around three o'clock there was a knock on the door. I opened it to find JC looking very upset. "He won't listen Tiff, not even to me! He won't even look at me if I try to talk about it." He said pacing the room. "Why is he being so stubborn." "Thanks for trying Jayce. I guess it's a lost cause. I'm flying out tomorrow with Carly, I would love to have dinner with you guys tonight." "Sounds good, I'll talk to the others. So you are going to California?" "Yeah we have a ranch there that has been neglected for a while. I'm gonna go take care of it for a while. Take a much needed vacation." "You're going to spend your vacation working on a ranch?" JC asked grinning. "Yes, don't look at me like that. Doing this will make me feel better...hopefully." I grinned then and JC turned to leave. "See you tonight?" "You'll see me for sure, and I'm sure the others will come if they can." He left then and not too long after that Carly came in. "Have a good day?" I asked grinning. "I had a GREAT day!" She laughed, and then got serious. "It sucks that I have to go back to work, but at least you'll be close enough that I can come visit you on the weekends." "And you damn well better come see me on the weekends, whenever you can. I have that big ol house all to myself and I will be lost once all the work is done." I said hugging her. "The guys are going to try to come have dinner with us tonight, we should start getting ready." We took our time getting ready and the guys called to let us know that they were all coming. All except Joey of course. We met them in the lobby and they had surprised us be arranging for a limo to take us to dinner. "Think you will be up for dancing after dinner?" Justin asked already bouncing in his seat. "That sounds like fun. I haven't been dancing in years." I laughed at him. Dinner was great and we all managed to have good conversation, even though it was kind of awkward without Joey. Afterwards we went to a club where we were ushered to the back and into the VIP area. "Let's dance!" Justin yelled dragging me out onto the floor. He slid up behind me on the dance floor and put his hands on my hips grinding up against me. I tried to keep up with him but he was way outta my league. "Thanks Just. I'm gonna get a drink!" I yelled when the song had ended. Justin didn't hear me though, he was already heading in the other direction. I laughed and shook my head as he walked up to another girl. I ordered a margarita from the waitress and slouched into the booth. "Already tired?" JC asked. "That boy can move, but he moves too damn much for me." I laughed taking a long drink of the margarita the waitress had placed in front of me. "Why aren't you dancing?" "I'd rather slow dance, all those people out there jumping around gives me a headache." As if on cue a slow song started. JC grabbed my hand and walked me to the dance floor. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close. "So you want to tell me what's going on with you and Joey?" "I already told you what's going on...." I said looking at him quizzically. "No no...I mean what's going on. If you guys were just friends than why would he care if he saw you sleeping with Lance?" He raised his eyebrows at me and smiled. "We had a talk earlier. We both have feelings for each other but it's just not the right time. So I guess when he saw us together he assumed that I just wanted Lance instead of him. Which is just ridiculous because..." JC put a finger to my lips and grinned. "Sorry....I was rambling." I laughed. "Yes you were. I could tell that he was liking you more than he wanted to admit. I just didn't know that he had told you about it. You guys are perfect for each other by the way." We finished the dance and went back to our booth. We spent the rest of the evening laughing at the others dancing. |
