Our Laws
As a clan, we fight honorably. We do not harrass other players. We do not flood, and do not violate the rules of our server. We do not disobey those of higher rank in the clan. First and foremost, we do NOT fire upon eachother. Disadvantaged fighting, such as axe-fighting, will be rewarded if done well. Keep track of your progress, and you will rise in our ranks.
Team Fortress is a Quake team play plug-in. The major difference between a TF game and any other game lies in the fact that in a TF game, one can choose between a number of diferent character classes. These are listed below. To play a team fortress game, you should have GameSpy, Quakeworld (the last two ocme as a package), and of course, the Team Fortress plugin, and the TFMaps.
Heavy Weapons Guy (HWGUY) is a good starting point for a team fortress newbie. His railgun is great fun to use to grind people to bits, and he is a great defensive player. He is limited on offense because of his lack of speed, but in a one-on-one killfest, he is very effective. He is also good to put on the balconies because he can rotate while firing his railgun, letting him do very effective bullet sweeps. His other catch is that he cannot move forward or backward or strafe while firing the railgun, so he isn't so great for dashing in to get a team flag. Still, he's a lot of fun.
Demolitions man (DEMOMAN) is a powerful strategic player. Many a time I have been caught in a pipebomb trap while running to grab a flag. The pipebombs are just fun if you know how to use them right (which I don't), and the detpack is REALLY powerful. I haven't been able to use a demoman effectively yet, but I've seen them used really well.
Medic is a good type to use if you like axe fighting. He self-heals, which is quite useful, and his axe induces a disease in a target, which is lethal quite quickly. He is also a good strategic player because of his healing capabilities. However, some find him boring because he isn't great with firearms. He is mostly for axe-fighters.
Engineer is one of the best players on a strategic level. Because he can build sentry guns and ammo boxes, he generally sticks around the base. The sentry guns are one of the most effective defensive structures available, and most fortresses have a LOT of them. If you really want to help your team, but don't care about kills, an engineer is the man for you. The Blood Orchestra keeps Engineers in high regard.
Sniper is a type that spans the spectrum. In the hands of an inexperienced player, he can't do much of anything. However, in the hands of an expert, he is a god of the game. His sniper rifle can easily kill in one shot, so if you are great at quick, stationary aiming, he may be your man. Many a time I've been blasted off of a balcony by a really good sniper. If you're willing to put some time into it, very effective character type. Good snipers are held in high regard by the Blood Orchestra.
Spy is a type I haven't used or seen enough to comment on. Maybe that's the nature f a spy, I don't know. Hey... maybe they're the ones who always get the flag! I really have no idea about them. They can disguise themselves as members of the other team, and their knives deliver immense damage.
Pyro is fun just to mess around with. It's great to see an opponent burst into flames because of your little rockets. The flamethrower is also fun to burn people into ashes with. I haven't played Pyros much, either, but I suppose they're good offensive players.
Soldier is the basic fighter on a Quake team, essentially the core ground troops. If I may ask, why the hell would anybody ever want to be a boring old soldier?
