You go to the pier.

Within a quarter of an hour, you are at the Shanghai bay. It is enormous, but you suspect that the pier you want won't be hard to find. You are right. At the very edge of the bay, you see a long, wide wooden pier that is cracked and broken and half submerged in the sea. Concealing yourself behind some posts, you prepare to wait.

But to your surprise, you hardly have to wait at all. After only an hour, you hear a rumbling as something emerges from the water near the broken pier. It's a submarine! You can hardly believe your eyes! It seems to be the size of a whale. On its side is written, "Xu Huang."

huge submarine

Now, although you hadn't seen anyone in the area of the broken pier minutes ago, people seem to be discreetly gathering. A tiny motorboat appears and shuttles people out to the enormous submarine. You see them climb the rungs on its side and disappear inside it. Where could this submarine be taking these people?

You instinct is to sneak aboard the submarine. But, you may be recognized as an outsider. Is it possible to conceal yourself aboard this submarine? Who knows where it might be going or how long you will have to remain aboard it? You've learned much about this gang of international terrorists. Perhaps you should return to France and report to your supervisor. She might be able to get the French navy involved.
