As some of you may have noticed, I have not been keeping up very well with my web pages. I'm afraid I have been preoccupied ever since my company announced that they will be "regionalizing" my department at the end of the year. In other words, we're all fired. Well, that's not exactly true. The director isn't fired, neither are the two supervisors. It's the rest of us schmucks who get dumped. Well, that's not really fair. They're actually being quite nice about it. We'll have first choice of any new jobs that come along. Of course, it will take a lot of new jobs to absorb the entire department, and so far all of the job postings are for things I would much rather not be doing, but at least we had plenty of warning. The countdown currently stands at 34 business days to go. Dec 13 (Friday the 13th of course!) is D-day.

So I will try to post my resume on line here, and start looking for work. Basically, I am a smart, hard-working guy with no marketable skills. I would like to work on the Web, developing web sites and CGI scripts. Unfortunately, I only have an introductory level of programming ability. If you know of any wonderful jobs in the Boston area, please send me an e-mail at yojimbo@hotmail.com.

I have not yet begun to self-indulge!

It always seemed to me that most homepages were a trifle on the boring side. A brief bio, a picture of the family pet, a list of allegedly cool links... Pretty dull stuff, and not of much interest to anyone except the person who wrote it. Thus, self-indulgent. Why should mine be any different? If you want to see the (hopefully) more interesting pages I have made, go to:

      • Jim's Gamepage for a look at some fun games you can play right on the web, and a look at how you might make your own.
      • The Interdependent Webring Homepage to learn about that ring, or webrings in general, or to circle the ring, or to join it.

Otherwise, here we go with the self-indulgence...

I am James McNulty of the Clan McNulty. I was born in Syracuse, New York. I spent a few years in Delaware, where my brother Chuck was born. Then we moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where my sister Liza was born. I mostly grew up out in the east suburbs, but my parents moved to the South Hills around the time I was moving out. I wound up back in New York when I went to Cornell University in beautiful (but cold and wet) Ithaca, NY.

I now find myself in Boston, MA working for Sallie Mae. I'm not quite sure how that happened. For now I am trying to learn as much about the internet as I can before my account at Boston University expires. Once that happens, I'll probably open an account with Hardlink. They seem pretty cool, and I would be able to write CGI scripts, and make some real progress for my gamepage. In the meanwhile, I'm just sittin' back, sippin' Virgil's root beer and surfing...

Below, you will find the banner for the Interdependent Webring. A webring is another way to organize information. Rather than seeing a list of pages (though a webring will do that too) you start at one page and link to the next, and the next, and the next all the way around a circle back to the page from which you began. All of the pages on this ring are made by Unitarian Universalists. We need more pages on the ring! If you are a UU with a page on the Web, then visit the Interdependent Webring Homepage by clicking on the chalice graphic on the left, and get more information on joining the ring. To move to the previous or next site on the ring click on the spot indicated below.
