This is a fascinating text that explores the history of electronic games. The writing is easy to understand and the somewhat bland historical information is suplamented by anecdoates and stories from the original creators themselves. The coverage seems quite thorough without focusing to much on any particular facet. The design is very appealing to the eye- screen shots, cabinets, manuals, and adcopy are seemlessly integrated with programmer photos and original documents. This makes for an excellent coffee table kind of book.
The episodic nature of the narration means you can devote a few minutes or a few hours to traveling back to the yesteryear of video games. Suprisingly recent, the text starts with the early days of computers and ends up in 2001. An excellent read and resource- highly recommended!

An excellent resource for any webmaster. This text will walk you through the web page creation process even if you're starting from square one. More experienced page makers might get bored but flip ahead a few chapters and I'm sure you'll see something new. This was especially useful for me becuase, while I kinda know how the code works I didn't know all the details and the options available.
