Particulars of Second Sanctum
Or: What the heck does it all mean?

Second Sanctum is many things, but can best be described as a storyteller's website. Yes, much of these things spring from roleplaying games, but even that aspect serves the story. So too, do the illustrations here exist solely to enhance the story. Telling a good story is what this is all about.

As the site grows in complexity and presentation, it also grows in content. We will strive to build upon the many layered stories about the three worlds of which we speak. To clarify, the Realms of Skylis (The sole creation of Angelo Barovier) is the primary focus here. Two characters in Second Sanctum do not exist in Skylis; Sir Mithmore Thornshrike and Rancorr Blackmane. Sir Mithmore lives in the Empire of Arturon (The sole creation of Steve Madill), which is also referred to as simply: The Empire. Rancorr lives in the World of Vorill (The sole creation of Curtis Carter). Each creator retains exclusive rights to their respective property.

Second Sanctum is so named as it is the 'sequel' or offspring of a page known as The Inner Sanctum. The Inner Sanctum had a similar function, save that it was created with less graphic design, less web-savvy, less forethought and far less effort. And, no, we did not forget the 'The' in front of 'Second Sanctum'. A decision was made to always refer to our site without using 'The'. Chalk it up to meaningless style.

Why Fantasy Fiction? Because. Just because. I suppose, because as Science rapidly consumes what was once thought of as Science Fiction, and because real life already has so many wonderful stories, we choose Fantasy Fiction because the wonder is still there. The mystery is still there. Though we have all witnessed space travel and moon missions, we have yet to witness the wizard's might or a griffon's flight. Science now knows that a great many things once thought impossible are now within our reach, but Magic eludes Science. Magic remains impossible. Or so most believe. And so we choose a magical world in which to tell our stories. A magical world of spells and charms, goblins and knights - and dragons!

And we hope you feel the wonder of it all...

...and so it begins.

Second Sanctum built by: Rancorr. The coding was all hand-written, without use of HTML-Editing programs. Thus it is optimized for no browser in particular, although we tried to stick to HTML 3.2 since it is almost universally understood by browsers. We have striven to make the site accessible to all. Although some of the coding may be better suited to one browser or the other, we will work to make the site as universal in interface as we can. To help us in doing so, please report any errors or bugs on our site. This will assist us to reach the Elysium of geeks. Ivory bar provided by: Clipart Castle.
