The goal of this site is to clear up some misconceptions
about the "possibility" (or lack thereof ) of attaining some
of the fastest times on each of Blast Corps' 57 levels. There are many
good sites that give you an idea of how to get started. Not many are very
good at getting you to the ultimate goal... and that is to get all 57 Platinum
medals and the 30th Promotion. Only then is the game truly finished. I'm
officially on Blast Corps vacation because I've reached my goal to get
to Blast Corps' 30th Promotional Level. However, I keep picking the game
back up to shave that extra second or even tenth of a second off some of
my times.
I am striving to make this site easier to navigate
and to complete detailed descriptions of all 57 levels and accompanying
graphics and I realize that I'm not there yet. If you will check back,
I promise I will have tried to make some headway. Even better, tell me
what is important to you and I will attempt to shift my efforts in that
direction.
If you are not at the point yet, where you are obsessed
with hacking off the smallest fractions of a second from each and every
level in Blast Corps, or at least feeling like you want to attempt to get
some Platinum Medals, you might want bookmark this site first and
take a look at my Nintendo 64 links:
WAIT!!!
One caveat first before you go clicking away in oblivion... if any site
tells you in their "FAQ" or other such file that the Backlash
is the best vehicle with which to use the "Homer
Simpson"* technique, immediately
disregard such rubbish! I know of only
one place in Blast Corps where you can get a
faster time by pressing the Z button while using Backlash where it is not
faster to just slam the whole building to the ground the legal way. Note
that I said "Backlash", not "Ramdozer". Use the Homer
Simpson technique with the Ramdozer in Beeton Tracks, Ebony Coast, and
Oyster Harbor for some unbelievably fast times.

* (so called because your driver says "doh!" during this procedure whereby you park your vehicle next to a building in such a way that your driver cannot exit... then if you hold the Z button, the structure will spontaneously explode) [Back] |

If you are at the point where you are ready to do some really serious destruction, first and foremost... Don't Panic! (and hold on to your towel), you may need it to avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal. Or maybe to wipe your brow off if you haven't already used it to clean up any really disgusting galactic filth yet. Remember, each Blast Corps level requires a certain level of skill and that skill will come in time. What you need is the knowledge to develop that skill. Here's hoping that you find that within these pages... Get started. |
