"Music, the greatest good that mortals know, And all
of heaven we have below." - Joseph Addison |
If you ventured a look at my music pages,
you would have noticed that music is a passion of mine just like
writing. I have many favorite artists, but I have gathered some
of my top choices here for you.
If you find one you like click on the title or the image
of the CD cover to go to amazon's page to read more about it. |

Braveheart
Music from the Motion Picture
composed by James Horner
I would say that I listen to this soundtrack more often than
any other CD I have. I especially like to listen to it for inspiration
when I write. There is also More
Music from Braveheart available which features sound
clips from the movie. |

Pieces
of You
by Jewel
This is a great CD. I love the carefree style in which her
music is performed and her lyrics are insightful and heartfelt.
Her Spirit
album is also terrific, but this one is my favorite. |
 |
City
of Angels Soundtrack
When I first got this album I was content just to have a recording
of Alanis Morissette's Uninvited, but as I listened to
the whole thing more it really grew on me. I am a blues fan and
this CD has some good blues. I also really, really like Sarah
McLachlan's Angel. Beautiful song. |

Version
2.0
by Garbage
"Real strings, treated woodwinds, and plenty of artificially
flavored but utterly yummy ear candy sweeten up a consistently
catchier batch of soon-to-be-hits, while also broadening the
debut's sulkiness with greater extremes of darkness and light."
- Spin Magazine. What more is there to say? |
 |
Forever
Blue
by Chris Isaak
This is one CD that I could never grow tired of. His voice
is remarkable in its range and his lyrics are "real"
to me. My favorite song on the album is Please don't leave
me on my own. |
 |
Lord
of the Dance Soundtrack
composed by Ronan Hardiman
If you have never seen this production, I highly recommend
it. But even if you never see it, the music is worth your dollar.
If you like Celtic music, this CD is a great choice. I also enjoy
the soundtrack to Riverdance
by Bill Whelan. |

More
Noise & Other Disturbances
by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
A classic. The Bosstones have undergone some changes since
their early beginnings, but they remain a good group still. However,
this CD is my favorite of theirs so far. If you like Ska music
with a bit of rock, I think you should give them a try. |
 |
Grosse
Pointe Blank Soundtrack Vol. 1 & 2
If you liked the alternative rock of the 80's you'll like
these CDs. Some of the artists include; The Specials, Siouxsie
& the Banshees, The Pixies and Tones on Tail. |

 |
Choo
Choo Hot Fish
by The Stray Cats
Actually, every album I have heard by the Stray Cats I like,
but this one is my favorite. Their cover of Sleepwalk
is fantastic to say the least. When it comes to rockabilly, these
guys are the best in my eyes! |
 |
Twin
Peaks Fire Walk With Me composed by Angelo Badalamenti
Even if you're not a fan of Twin Peaks, this is a great album.
Featuring some dreamy and soothing pieces as well as some cool
jazz, it's one of my favorites. The soundtrack to the TV
show is pretty darn good too. |

 |
Xena:
Warrior Princess Soundtrack
composed by Joseph LoDuca
There are three volumes to this as far as I know, though I
only have two. If you like the TV show, you'll like these CDs
a lot. LoDuca seems to favor the mystical aspects, but also has
some powerful battle themes going too. |
 |
X-Files
The Movie Soundtrack
This CD has some great alternative rock artists, including;
The Cure, The Foo Fighters, The Cardigans and Sarah McLachlan. |
 |
Red
Motion Picture Soundtrack composed by Zbigniew Preisner
If you want some beautifully arranged classical pieces, this
is the CD for you. Be wary of the first and the last tracks on
the album though! They are odd French love songs and may be too
much for the weak stomached. Other than those two though, the
CD is a nice relaxing album. |
 |
So
Tonight That I Might See
by Mazzy Star
A mellow, dreamy album for those days when all you want to
do is lay on the couch and daydream. My favorite song on the
album is Fade Into You. |
 |
Lofty's
Roach Souffle
by The Harry Connick, Jr. Trio
For some cool, lounge style jazz this CD is my number one
choice. Harry doesn't sing on this one, which is a bit unusual
for him, but it is still my favorite Connick album. A good CD
to have playing in the background when you are entertaining guests. |
 |
The
Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste
by Ministry
For days when you feel like thrashing your house, this album
is a bitter view on the subject, life. If you like industrial
music, Ministry is my number one choice for you. |
 |
If
There Was A Way
by Dwight Yoakam
Good ol' Dwight. I like his other albums too, but this one
is probably my favorite. I like to listen to this one most often
when I am cleaning up the house. |
 |
No
Need To Argue
by The Cranberries
A wonderful blend of Irish sounds with alternative rock. I
have their first album, Everybody
Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We? as well, but I like this
one best. I have yet to hear their other album, To
The Faithful Departed. |
 |
Cross
of Changes
by Enigma
Smooth and relaxing, this CD is one of my favorite albums
to fall asleep to. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys New Age
music, though it is not exactly in that genre itself. |
 |
Legend
by Bob Marley
For anyone who loves Reggae, this album is a must have. It
is basically the greatest hits of Bob Marley and the Wailers.
My favorite song is Redemption Song. |
 |
Blade
Runner
composed by Vangelis
Beautifully arranged by a true master. The music on this CD
has that timeless quality that can take you away to another world.
I recommend listening to it while you soak in a hot bath. |
