Boy, this one was a doozie. All kinds of visiting took us from Arkansas and Louisiana into Colorado and Montana...all by car! Elizabeth is an amazing road trip baby. She loves being in the car, and we had a great time the whole way. Elizabeth has "sing" and mimic gestures. She also developed a keen interest in other children this month. She will laugh and get very excited when she sees another child - especially ones near her own age. She is just growing like a weed, and she gets prettier every day. Here's the monthly news and, of course, more pictures.

It's ok, you can say it...
I ought to be on the cover of American Baby.
You know it. I know it. *wink*
They know it, too.

Health:

Lizzie had an extremely uncharacteristic crying jag on our arrival to Montana. Her legs and face turned bright pink, and we got very worried. We took her to a clinic and had her checked out, but the doctors had no answer for us. She never had any other symptoms, and it cleared up in about an hour. I guess we'll never know what caused it, but it sure scared the pants off of me.

Eating Habits:

We've started giving Lizzie bites off of our plates, and she really enjoys that. Mostly, though, she's still on her 2nd foods from the jar.

Sleeping Habits:

Still an excellent and steady sleeper. I think she's in the routine for good, now.

Development:

Lizzie is pulling up regularly and standing for long periods without support. We think that first step is coming soon, but she doesn't seem to be in a hurry. She cruises a little, but doesn't do it often.
Lizzie shakes her head, "no," now, and she will play patty cake if you sing the song to her...even if you don't clap your hands as a demonstration.

Visiting:

May 10th - 25th, we traveled to Colorado and Montana to visit my dearest friend, Kristi, as she graduated from college at the University of Montana. Lizzie was a fabulous traveller, and we really enjoyed the trip.
Upon returning to Arkansas from Montana, we stayed with the Hollands until the 31st.

Elizabeth first stood unsupported on May 18th. On June 2nd, she clapped and rolled her hands to "Patty Cake" for the first time without someone else leading her. She also sang for the first time this month and began to cruise.
