Name : Gabrielle d'Angebeau de Combret
Description
Gabrielle is a dark haired woman with hazel eyes and creamy skin. She normally dresses in high quality but serviceable clothing. Apparently in her mid-20's, she is comely in shape and about 5'-6" tall. Her bearing is proud, but approachable.
Background
Gabrielle was born to a small noble family on Belle Isle. As a young girl, she played through standing stones and was often thought to be fey herself with a talent for hearing other's thoughts. Her parents were involved in an accident at sea and drowned while she was young and not long after a Tremere mage posing as a monk arrived in a storm, and offered to take Gabrielle away for an education and a better life which she excepted. He told the family she was living with they would be paid well and that his order would take care of a dowry if and when she married. They gladly consented and Gabrielle was brought to Poitiers at about age 10.
She lived with the d'Angebeau family and often served at the court of Queen Eleanor, learning all the court of love could teach of diplomacy and other gentle arts. The d'Angebeau family was quite fond of her and treated her as their own, having lost a young daughter. They even allowed her to use the family name.
While at Poitiers, Gabrielle was watched by a young squire from the region around Lyon named Alain de Combret. At age 15 she married Alain with a suitable dowry contributed by the d'Angebeau family. Gabrielle suspected Alain of having some natural magical ability, but was not able to verify it. A year later she gave birth to a son at the Combret family estate in Lyons, and they named him Guillaume. Just after Guillaume's first birthday, disaster befell the family. The entire group, save Guillame and Gabrielle, were wiped out by a fever. As Plantagenet supporters in a time of turmoil, King Phillip sent his man Marcel Cardenal to run the estate in fief until Guillaume was old enough to take possession. The Tremere magus, Ambrose, appeared again and took Gabrielle to a nunnery at the king's orders. Before she left, Gabrielle "imprinted" an image of herself on her young son and took a lock of his hair, which is her most precious possession. The nunnery turned out to be a covenant, where Gabrielle finished her training and passed the Wizard's gauntelet at age 23. Although the king's man claimed that Guillaume died at age 4, Gabrielle knew that he was still alive. The bonding that took place apparently made her able to feel when Guillaume is distressed or unhappy. The feelings didn't stop, so she is sure he is "out there" somewhere, and that Ambrose had something to do with his abduction. This feeling left her unable to turn to House Tremere, and she choose Jerbiton, principally because of their close ties to the mundane world. She currently works as a diplomat for Queen Eleanor's faction as well as for the covenant.
