Attack Pattern:
I believe that they walk back and forth, and eventually they stop and
explode, which will damage you if you're near enough. They also explode
if you pick them up and carry them around
Basic Fighting Strategies:
Avoid them when they're about to explode. You can use them as powerful
weapons by picking them up.
Attack Pattern:
The walk back and forth, and eventually they'll stop and detonate, causing
an explosion which will damage you if you're near enough. They also
self-destruct if you stomp them.
Basic Fighting Strategies:
Avoid them when they start to flash, that means they are going to blow
up soon. I think you can kick them by walking into them.
Advanced Strategies:
You can pick up a Bob-omb after stomping it, and use it as a weapon.
Just make sure you get rid of it before it explodes.
Attack Pattern:
Regular ones act the same as in previous games, walking back and forth
until they explode. They flash before exploding.
In addition to the regular ones, two new types have been added. Parabombs
fall on you from above, using parachutes. After they land, they act
like normal Bob-ombs. Bubble Bob-ombs float around in bubbles. They
won't explode as long as they're encased in their bubbly prisons, but
they will blow up after you release them.
Basic Fighting Strategies:
As usual, stomping on a grounded Bob-omb will cause it to start flashing,
and eventually blow up. If you've got Parabombs to deal with, you should
generally wait for them to land; there isn't much else you can do about
them. You can free the Bubble Bob-ombs by hitting the bubble from below
and popping it, although it may not be a really smart idea.
Advanced Strategies:
As usual, you can use them as a weapon by stomping one and picking it
up. Also, you should be able to kick them by walking into them.
Attack Pattern:
They generally wait for a while, and then use Explode on you. The explode
attack is dangerous, it costs a lot of HP.
Basic Fighting Strategies:
You should be able to beat them with a timed hit from Mario. Have
Geno and Mallow double-team others. Make sure that you beat them
completely, one at a time, to prevent them from using explode.
Advanced Strategies:
You can try to block the explode attack, I think, but it's hard, because
they really charge at you fast.
Attack Pattern:
They wander around in a small area until they spot you, and then they
light their fuse and start charging after you.
Basic Fighting Strategies:
Avoid them. It's the easiest thing to do.
Advanced Strategies:
You can also pick Bob-ombs up. Try to sneak up behind them for best
results, but you can pick them up head-on. It is possible to pick these
guys up even when you're running. You'll dive at them, and pick them up
as if you were diving after a baseball. They don't give you as much
warning about when they're going to blow up in this game, they have a "lit
fuse" sound, but it goes for a fairly long time before they blow up.
Attack Pattern:
On the map, they walk around until they see Mario, then they chase him. In battle,
they stomp on Mario's head if they are not angry, and they will explode on contact
if they are angry.
Basic Fighting Strategies:
On the map, you can use any attack to get a first strike, but the Dizzy attack
(if you have the Dizzy Badge) is best. If they are Dizzy when you hit them,
Bob-ombs won't get mad!
In battle, all attacks will work, but if you attack them while they are angry,
they will explode, so you must use a long-distance attack like Hammer Throw unless
you want to lose 2 Heart Points.
Advanced Strategies:
Kooper can safely hit them when they are angry, so have Mario attack them, and then
have Kooper finish them off. You'll save FP and items by doing this. In fact,
it is a good idea to use Kooper as your partner almost all the way through the
Koopa Bros. Fortress, only switching to other characters when you need their
special skills.
To block their jump attacks, press A just as they land on Mario's head. When they
explode, they will march towards Mario, pause for a second, and then blow up. You
have to try to press A just before they blow up to block the attack. You can't
block the explosion if you are attacking a Bob-omb that is angry.
Attack Pattern:
They are always thrown at Mario by someone else, like Moles or King Boo. After
that, they follow Mario around slowly, and when they are ready to explode, a counter
appears on their face and counts down to the explosion. If they are sprayed with
water, they turn blue and stop moving.
Basic Fighting Strategies:
Spray them with water to stop them in their tracks. Once they are stopped, you
can pick them up and throw them. You can't pick them up if they aren't blue.
Advanced Strategies:
These guys can be used as weapons against the Moles. You will get a coin if
you pick up a blue Bob-omb and throw it.
