People tended to like the previous Character Deck, so a poll for the next deck was created. This time, we're doing the deck for Katsuya Jounouchi. Due to the other votes in the poll, the deck after this one will be Mai Kujaku's. After that, we will have another poll.

Jounouchi is an interesting amalgam in the Yu-Gi-Oh! The truth is, Jounouchi isn't that great of a duelist. I'm not a great duelist myself, but I would consider myself above Jounouchi in this respect. He is still a relative beginner at the game. He does not know combos TOO well, but he does have some good moments where. He deck shows this, with lots of somewhat weak and average cards.

Jounouchi's deck is MAINLY a Warrior and Animal Warrior deck, splashed with Gambling. This is what makes his deck unpredictable. He doesn't have a main combo in his deck, like some other duelists. His best one is probably fusing the Time Magician and Baby Dragon into the Thousand Dragon, but other than that, his weak Monsters need power-ups to survive.

For this deck, we are going to concentrate on the cards that he used during Battle City, rather than the Duelist Kingdom. Here are the cards that Jounouchi used in the comic (that are available at the current time), up until he was defeated by Malik in the semi-finals:

Ack. Jounouchi has too many non-themed cards to go for his deck. Yeah, it's a Warrior and Animal Warrior deck, but not much is there to actually SUPPORT that theme. After all, this is just a Character Deck as it is. There are no real combos.

Psycho Shocker, Gilford and the Insect Queen are about the only heavy hitters that Jounouchi has (Remember, at this point in Battle City, Yugi still had his Red Eyes). He has a few high attack strength level four Monsters. Use some of the Traps and Magic cards to keep you alive until you can get something better out.

Other than that, Jounouchi's deck isn't that great.
