Ranma 1/2 is an excellent anime by rumiko Takahashi.The above paragraphs sum up the series pretty good.It's is a romantic-martial-arts-comedy about Ranma and his "adventures" in Nerima district Tokyo.Ranma is brought to the states by Viz Video.
I'm going to review the story a li'l bit...
Ranma and his dad,Genma,return from Jusenkyo and they go to Tokyo.Ranma finds out that he is promised to one
of the Tendos.They decide(against both Ranma and Akane's wills) that since Akane doesn't like guys that she should
marry Ranma.on the first day of School,Ranma meets Tatewaki Kuno aka.Kuno,and they fight.Kuno finds out Ranma's
secret but thinks that she isn't Ranma(dumb...).Nabiki starts selling Kuno pics of Akane(who he loves)and
Ran-chan.
Then Ryoga comes to Tokyo.He fights Ranma and nearly wins.Ryoga followed Ranma to Jusenkyo and fell into a spring.One splash changes him into a small black pig,P-chan. Akane takes a liking to P-chan and takes him as a pet.Ranma keeps Ryoga's secret because of the warrior's code(and fear of Akane).
Ranma meets Kuno's sister,Kodachi "The Black Rose" Kuno.She takes a liking to him.Ran-chan
challenges Kodachi to a fight.They have a match of martial arts rhythmic gymnastics(Silly!)
Ranma barely wins and Kodachi vows to take Ranma from Ran-chan by force.
Then an amazon from China shows up.Shampoo,amazon psyko,finds Ran-chan.Now,Ran-chan beat Shampoo in a fight,that being bad honor,forces Shampoo to give Ran-chan the kiss of death ("Oh sirs,is very bad") which means that she'lltrack Ran-chan to ends of earth to kill her. Ranma-kun(guy) beats her in a fight and according to tribal law,an amazon that loses to a guy must marry him. Ranma's up to 2 fiancees.She erases Ranma from Akane's memory,but Ranma fixes that.
After that,a strange person shows up and beats the smack outta Genma. It turns out that this guy is Ranma's new classmate,Ukyo Kuonji.She(yup,she) Explains to Ranma,after a fight,and tells him that she is his fiancee also.
