Alignment Restrictions and the Army of Angmar

Within the Army, the Dark Lord does not tolerate those who stray from the path of damnation for long. While minor deviations in alignment are allowed, if not approved of, soldiers who consistently stray towards the light will be punished with the loss of skills and specials.

Furthermore, alignment plays an important part in determining whether or not a certain rank and level of skill can be attained within the Army - those who are not sufficiently evil will be unable to train their skills beyond a certain level.

As many of the most powerful weapons of the Army are possessed by evil creatures, soldiers will at times find themselves with an alignment tending towards the light, as evil creatures are slain for the weapons that they wield. This is an unfortunate fact of life that the Army recognises. However, it is expected that those soldiers who kill evil creatures to gain weapons will then use these weapons against the forces of the West, so overall an evil alignment may be maintained. In order to keep track of your alignment, the various shades of good and evil are provided below.

The following list shows alignment on an increasing scale of evilness.

  • neutral, disagreeable, untrustworthy, unsympathetic, sinister, wicked, nasty, foul, evil, malevolent, beastly, demonic and damned.

The following list shows alignment on an increasing scale of goodness.

  • neutral, agreeable, trustworthy, sympathetic, nice, sweet, good, devout, blessed, saintly and holy.
