Q*Bert
This is another CLASSIC character. The Qube master, himself Q*Bert fights the evil forces of boredom in this great game. The little orange wonder even made a sequel and had a cartoon going on for a while there (though I never understood how he actually put that jacket on with no arms....)
Lemme tell ya, folks, JROK did an OUTSTANDING job on his PC port of Q*Bert called PC*Bert. It'll kill about 1.3 meg on your drive, but this is phenomenal. Much praise, JROK! Get it NOW, folks!
Up until JROK, there was no way to play Q*Bert on the PC without some type of emulator. The game through an emulator is IDENTICAL, but you're making your IBM act like another machine, so sometimes, slowdown happens (especially on slow 486's or less). Now, you can bask in the glory of PC*Bert. The only differences are the name, the addition of the cool cheat codes (read the docs), and the cool scrolling text screen a-la C=64(you'll see what I mean). If you can't live with the fact that the name's different, go get a freakin' emulator, and download an ILLEGAL ROM image (I DO NOT endorse keeping these images for more than twenty-four hours. I fully support downloading them, but you legally MUST delete them within ONE day! Neither I or Geocities is responsible for anything you do with ROM images found here or elsewhere). Ahh..... Q*Bert. You've come home.... again.
