Bosses of Chrono Trigger

What more is there to say?

BAH! Baddies!!!! These bosses get annoying. Cream 'em with my tips!

<bgsound src="ctbossbattle.mid" loop=infinite>

Yakra: Oh yeah, he's annoying. But not hard. Crono and Frog should simply X-strike while Lucca Flame Tosses and occasionally uses a Tonic when necessary.

Dragon Tank: He's hard, I know, I know. Cyclone the body, and have Lucca heal or attack. Flame attacks don't work. The head should be Lucca's main attack point, followed by the wheels, then the body.

Guardian: He's also kind of hard. Here's my technique-leave the healing to Marle, and have Lucca and Crono attack (Flame Whirl is okay if you have the PP) the Bits. After the bits are gone, attack the Guardian. If it recovers the bits, keep attacking the Guardian! If you really didn't do much damage to the Guardian after killing the bits, you may want to kill them a second time.

Krawlie: He's optional for now, but you may wanna kill him for the Bolt Sword. He can do a lot of damage, but he dies quickly. You got the Rage Band, have it equiped on Crono. Marle heals, and Crono and Lucca attack (Flame Whirl is fine).

R series: A pain in the boo-tay. Marle should heal and Crono should Cyclone. Twice for the front row, twice for the back. If one of them survives the two Cylones, Slash 'im. If you have Lucca, use Flame Whirl. If that doesn't kill 'em, use Cyclone, then Flame Whirl, Cyclone, etc. They don't hit a lot.. but there's 6!

Spekkio: He gets stronger and stronger when you level up. And gives you better items. Not much to say.. just use your strongest magic attacks. Regular attacks don't affect him. Use Relics and Armor that increases your Magic Defense, power, etc.

Most say Crono and Marle go together..you?

Heckran: So now you're all low on MP from the monsters, and then along comes this enemy with resistance to regular attacks! Antipode works well. Crono's Lightning is about all he can do. Robo should heal-Laser Spin is just too weak.

Zombone: Another annoyance, but he's easy if he find out his secret. Have Crono, Lucca, and Marle. Crono should Cyclone. Now, I'm gonna be admitant here-I forgot which side is weak against what! But anyway, either the head is weak against Fire, or the bottom half is. The other half is weak against Ice. Marle might need to heal, if so, then just keep Lucca flaming and Crono spinning. After one dies with a powerful attack (either steals all MP or does damage), the other will resort to more powerful moves (but don't fret-he's still easy).

Masa and Mune: Not much to say about these two. They're weak but they counterattack. Just aim on one at a time-by killing one, you kill them both. Robo should heal, but if you don't have him, Marle works fine.

Masamune: O_O Ahh!!! He's so big! But he's really not TOO tough... not easy, either. Robo should resort to curing and Robo Punching (low MP cost). Crono should attack (I don't know if you'll have Spincut by now, but if so, use it!). Lucca and Crono can use Fire Sword, which is useful, but if not, Lucca's Fire is fine. Marle should heal, cast Ice, or, if you can't use Lucca and Crono's Fire Sword, Antipode. If Masamune starts sucking up energy, use Crono's Slash. It'll dispel the tornado energy.

Nizbel: He's difficult, sure, but not too hard. Crono should use Lightning, and Fire Sword or Ice Sword works well after using Lightning (which greatly, greatly, GREATLY decreases Nizel's defense). Ayla's regular attacks are good, but you may want to use Rollo Kick if you desperatly need it. Marle can heal or use Ice Sword, Lucca can use Fire Sword, and Robo can heal or use Robo Tackle (or Punch).

Flea: She... I mean, he... is pretty strong, and requires a lot of building up for. Her.. I mean, his.. Waltz attack does significant damage, and Chaoses the victim, and the heart attack is even worse. Her... his.. fire spells aren't too harsh, though, and I noticed that... HE.. has a low defense. Robo's Tackle works well, and Crono's Spincut is great if paired with Ice Sword (Fire Sword isn't as effective). X-Strike is good, too, and Triple Raid is an awesome idea. Yes, I suggest Robo, Frog, and Crono-Triple Raid, and two healers.

Slash: Umm.. just do what you did to Flea. He uses Slash attacks, which can do a bit of damage but rarely hit everyone.

Ozzie: Oh my gosh, he's so HARD! Just hit the little switches behind him and kill him.. please. He's so annoying.

Magus: Oh, snap!!! Raw music here! Anyway, Magus is a confusing mixture of attacking spells and defensive spells. I definetly recommend Lucca, but if you really dislike her, have Robo. When Magus casts Fire2, he is hurt most by Fire magic. When he casts Lightning2, try a Lightning attack. When Ice2 is casted, use Frog's Water attacks. If Dark Bomb is casted, try Robo's Lazer Spin (it's the only Dark attack!). After you attack him with anything (except the Masamune), he casts another one of these four spells. If you hit him with the Masamune, however, it does little damage, but lowers his Magic Defense. After he "risks casting a spell", bombard him!! Double or Triple tech him as much as possible, but make sure Frog, Robo, or Marle have completely healed-he's ready to cast Dark Matter. Not a very fun attack. But it looks cool!

Nizbel II: ^^ Easy! Use Lightning attacks.... nothing much more.

Azala and Black Tyranno: Well... another one of those battles with the different music... as if Masamune and Magus weren't hard enough. Well, aim on the moronic little Azale first, he's very obnoxious. He dies quickly, but not before doing a ton of damage with Telekenesis and strong rock attacks, and the Tyranno doesn't help. After he's dead, heal up, and when the Tyranno "removes defense", attack him. Crono and Ayla work well with Volt Bite, and Robo, Frog, or Marle can heal or attack, and Lucca can use Napalm. Watch out for the countdown.

Golem: Kinda tricky, but fortunetly, you can lose this battle if you want! ^^ When you use an attack (Shadow, Water (includes Ice), Lightning, Physical, or Fire), he copies that technique and uses powerful attacks of that type. I advise using Water, he does the least amount of damage that way. Physical does a ton, so take him off that ASAP. Use Marle or Frog, definetly, or maybe both. One of my favorite ideas is to change rapidly-Crono's Lightning, Frog's Bubble, Lucca's Fire, Crono's Lightning, etc. He doesn't have a chance to attack!

Mud Imp, Red Beast, Ice Beast: OBNOXIOUS!!! Easy but LONG! *growls* Anyhoo, use Water or Ice on the Red one (doubles work well) and Fire on the Blue one. Don't attack the Imp, he'll just heal. Watch out for the counterattacks. Crono should use double techs with Marle or Lucca, and if not, Lightning2 is fine (or Spincut..). Lucca should use Fire Sword with Crono on the Blue Beast, and Marle should use Ice Sword with Crono on the Red Beast. Frog's Bubble and Heal work well. Ayla should regular attack, and if neither Marle or Lucca is in the party, use Falcon Kick (Cpt. Falcon, look out!). Robo should heal (oii, as always) and Robo Tackle. After the beasts die, just keep hitting the imp.

Giga Gaia: You can charm a Speed Tab from him for one thing. Anyway, KILL THE HANDS! THey do SO much damage with those dual attacks. You might have Confuse here, if so, have Crono use it. FalconKick with Ayla works well on hitting them both, too. Robo can heal, or perhaps use an Ice Tackle or Fire Tackle. Lucca should FireSword, Firesword2, or Fire Tackle with Robo/Crono. Marle should IceSword, IceSword2, or Ice Tackle with Robo/Crono. Frog's Leap Slash works well, and he should heal.

Dalton: I won't even bother telling you anything. Just watch out for Iron Orb and kill him quick.

GolemTwins: Eep!! *hides* Double Trouble, baby!! Use ONLY attacks that deal damage to all enemies, like Lightning2, or Heal. Attacking One is way futile. Make sure few or no physical attacks are used-500 damage to one char is NOT fun. Water2 and Ice2 work best here. Use Frog, Crono, and Marle, definetly. Marle might be able to Haste everyone, Frog can use Water2, and if you have ArcImpulse, use it! Watch out for the, "Buurp! Copying Dalton!" Attack. If you MUST use the others, Robo's Heal Beam and Ayla's.. umm.. nothing, work well.

Lavos: You're supposed to die here, don't worry.

Golemboss: Oh, yeah, he's really tough all right. Use whoever on him-he can't attack you! He's afraid of heights.

Dalton Plus: He can hit a little bit, but his HP is Very, VERY low. Ayla and Marle should use Cube Toss or Ice Toss. I really don't wanna do all of them, so just use powerful Double attacks. He dies about 3 turns after his first attack.

Magus: Well, you don't have to fight him. Just say you don't want to. If you must, it's a one on one battle. Frog vs. Magus. This is it. Use powerful attacks like Leap Slash, and if your HP gets low (not SO low that you'll die in one more attack), Frog Squash will work well. Regular attacks work okay if you're low on PP. He's kinda hard.

Lavos Spawn: You gotta fight him three times. Only aim on the head! Don't use attacks that will hit the head unless they're SO powerful that you're willing to take the hit. If you hit the shell, you will be hit by a needle attack that attacks at three of you.

Retinite: Okay, Marle, Magus, and/or Frog is a MUST here. If you use a Water attack on it, it will harden, and the enemy's defense power will decrease. Attack it, and it's defense power will increase. Attacks like Ice2 and Water2 will work best, but they do no damage. Prepare for a long battle.

Flea Plus: Just.. kill h-him.

Super Slash: Just.. kill him again.

Flea Plus, Super Slash, Great Ozzie: Okies, now we get to have a lot of FUN! Don't ever... ever ever ever ever EVER... use attacks hitting all three like Luminaire, Flare, etc. They'll use a powerful Triple Tech on you... three times! They use an "Arc Impulse" except with Fire, or a Delta attack. You can charm the Flea Vest (Magic Defense +12) from Flea Plus and the Slasher 2 (Strong Crono weapon) from Super Slash. The Ozzie Pants, from Great Ozzie, give a LOT of defense power, but you need another piece of armor protecting your status. Otherwise, in battle, you will be: Poisoned, chaosed, and slow. Owch. Anyway, I advise killing Flea Plus first, otherwise sh-HE!! HE!! HE will run, and you won't gain valuable experience. .....HE dies quickly, too. Then you can use attacks hitting both Ozzie and Super Slash! ^^

Atropos XR: Here, let's see if you get this hint. Uzzi Punch. Uzzi Punch. Cure Beam. Uzzi Punch. Uzzi Punch. Uzzi Punch. Cure Beam. Or something like that. If your HP gets low, Cure Beam. Otherwise Uzzi Punch. Since this is Robo alone, you'd better watch your PP and don't rely on others. If you beat her, you get an awesome ribbon! YES! Finally, Robo will not be so SLOW!

Mother Brain and the Displays: No, it's not a 60's group. You pretty much have no choice but to use a hit-all attack and eliminate all three Displays, unless you can deal about 3,000 damage per turn. The Displays cure 1000 HP to Mother Brain. There's 3. If you eliminate all three Displays, Mother Brain (Samus is not here, BTW) will use Powerful attacks. Very powerful. Robo's Uzzi Punch works well, but his Double and Triple techs don't work well, unless you want to use "Lifeline" with Crono and Marle. Use Cube Toss with Ayla and Marle, Ice/Fire Sword2 with Lucca or Marle and Crono, and just kick some butt. She has very low Hp, so she dies very quickly. Not before dealing a ton of damage first. Robo's Heal Beam works pretty well.

Son of Sun: Oh dear, this is long, hard, and painful. Here's my tip-use only Physical attacks. Never hit the Eye in the center. Go to 65,000,000 B.C., and get the special vests-they decrease damage from Fire attacks by 80-80!-percent. Hit ONLY a certain flame, like the one on the top. If the Son of Sun uses the Roulette, since there's no way of figuring out which flame was the one you hit, simply attack the top one again. One you hear a little sound, and the Son takes damage, you get some fun. Hit that one only. If Roulette occurs, keep checking all flames until one hits the Son. Keep this up until the Son dies. Best attacks are Spincut, Uzzi Punch, Triple Kick, and Leap Slash.

I need some non-icon pics, eh?

Cyrus: Well, actually, he's just a big ghost. He's invincible, so keep curing until he finally stops attacking. Then go and get the tools (get them in 1,000 AD and give them to the guy in 600 A.D.). Then, he won't even be here.

Rust Tyrano: Make sure you'll fully healed, and blast him as much as possible before time runs out. Double techs are okay, but I don't think you'll need triple techs. After he burned you, quickly heal and hit him s'more. He's kinda easy. Too easy.

YakraXIII: Yeah, you knew he'd be back for more. This time he's a little harder, but not very. He used a mass-needle attack that hits everyone. Marle should Haste everyone use become using a double or triple tech-ANYTHING so she doesn't do anything. She really isn't a good attacker. Wow, Ice2. Arc Impulse works okay, but Cube Toss is better and it's only a double attack, leaving one more person open.

Mutants: I really.. REALLY don't wanna do them all... they're all different. Just try different techniques. Sorry I'm so lazy. ;) Usually, for a hint, if you eliminate the top, the bottom dies too.

Lavos Spawn: He dies quite quickly. Just eliminate him with a couple double techs with a lot of regular techs or just plain attacks.

Zeal: Well, she can eliminate all of your characters down to 1 HP, but THEN what? Frog, Robo, and Marle are good here. Ayla and Frog's Slurp Kiss work pretty well together, too. Just keep your HP above 200 (not hard at ALL) and you'll do fine. You even get a MegaElixer! Watch out for her MP sucking attacks.

Mammon Machine: Annoying factor=extreme. Attack him with a physical attack, and his defense will go up. Attack him with a magic attack, his attack goes up. Soon you do SO little damage.. just hang in there. He'll remove all defense soon. Just.. blast the jerk.

Zeal (2): Yay, no chance to heal. That MegaElixer you got from the first form will work good. Don't bother with the hands-just blast the face with your strongest techniques. No attacks that will hurt everyone-then the hands counter-attack. Hang in there-you're tired, but you can do it.

Lavos: *sob* Haven't you had enough?????? Well, at least here, you have a chance to heal or change party. Lavos mimics the following: DragonTank (includes the Wheels and Body), Guardian (has the two bits), Heckran, Zombone (Head and body), Masamune, Nizbel, Magus, Azala (he's actually the Black Tyrano), Giga Gaia (two arms). No more after that, fortunetly, so he's not hard. Once you beat him, Shelter up or return to the End of Time.

Lavos in Armor: Oof. This is it. Well, I advise your strongest chars-whoever you like will do. Here, use all attacks that will hit all enemies. Crono should have the FrenzyBand. Lucca and Marle, Dash Rings. Frog, PowerSeal. Ayla, PrismSpecs. Robo, GreenDream (this one, I can see arguing with). Magus, Gold Hairpin. Use Luminaire, Flare, DarkMatter, and Double Techs like Ice Water or possibly the best double tech, Frog Squash. (It does a ton of damage on its own, and incredibly damage when Frog is low on HP). Anyone who's not using attacks hit all enemies should aim on any arms that live, or the head. Healing is very important, too. Make sure all three of the characters have either the Vigil Hat or Nova Armor (protecting Status). Magus's Gloom Cape works fine, too. You did it!! You defeated Lavos!! Whoo hoo!!

Lavos Core with Bits: Well, DARN. You knew it was too easy. Lemme explain the three enemies in the best detail. The one on the left is the healing center. Although incredibly weak and with very low HP, it absorbs magic attacks. The one in the center is the powerhouse. It uses powerful, POWERFUL attacks (GrandStone and Dreamless will leave you amazed-Dreamless once did 1,800 damage to Lucca!!!). You need a healer for this guy. The one on the right is the heart. Although it has incredibly high defense and high HP, it removes it's defense for certain periods of time. If this one is eliminated, the whole core goes down. First, aim on the bit on the left. Use regular attacks or low, physical techs like SpinCut, Leap Slash, Cat Attack, or Robo Tackle (nothing too MP absorbant). Marle should Haste everyone up here, and Magus's Magic Wall and Lucca's Protect work good too. This is perfect, because this occupies everyone! After it dies, aim on the center with powerful attacks. Use all of your strongest attacks-Frog Flare, Delta Attack, Luminaire, the whole book. Once the core on the right removes defense, DEAK. Drop Everything And Kill. Use all powerful attacks on the Right Core. Once it restores defense, attack the center again. If the Left Core comes back up, kill it. After eliminating the right core, you're done. And no, nothing is after this...

Sir Krawlie: Unless you activated this ending. -_- Well, it's the first and funniest ending, and for SOME reason, you fight three of the producers of the game. They're very easy. Like, an Orc and something else.
