Chapter 6: The Final Battle

Once again, Brian was off toward the mountains. He easily relocated Gran’s cave
and entered it.

VOOSH

Brian barely dodged a fireball heading his way. Three more raged down the
corridor. Brian continued on past ten more fireballs until he again met with Gran.
 “In....tru.....der....re......turn! Gran.....kill.....in....tru.....der.....” And with those
words, the battle began.
For a long time Brian evaded Gran’s fireballs until he decided it was time to
counterstrike. A raging Water Pillar was Brian’s choice.
 “RRORRRR!!!” Gran lurched in pain.
Gran began to do a slight dance.
Brian fired off his Wind Cutters, but they bounced off.
Gran’s dance became even more animated.
 Avalance failed, too.
Gran’s dance became too quick to watch.
 Brian braced for impact.
Gran’s dance finished, he raised his hand, and he cast a spell of raging fire that
drove Brian to the wall. Brian felt burns singing his body. He knew that his Healing spell
would take too long to cure these wounds, so the only option was to fight. But before he
could cast his Walking Water spell, he noticed Gran was preparing for the Raging Fire
spell. Suddenly Brian realized what he had to do. If his timing was off by a mere second, it
would be the end. The fire came, and Brian used Walking Water. The spells clashed. Fire
against water, neither side gaining ground. Brian’s weakened state weakened his power.
Gran was winning. With all his might, Briansummuned the strongest magic he knew. Back
and forth the Water and Fire moved. Finally, Brian’s spell connected.
  “ROOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW!!!!” Gran shrieked.in
pain. A bright light filled the chamber. When it finished, Gran was gone. Gran was gone.
Brian pondered that fact until he realized that he had won! The only thing to do now was
return to Lingora.
As he passed through the city gates, it seemed as if the people already knew. There
was a huge party going on. Brian could barely make out the words, “The curse is broken!”
and he saw people disappearing left and right. How could people be happry if they were
disappearing? Suddenly Felanya was in his face, and she was just as happy as everyone.
“the curse is broken” she happily exclaimed before disappearing before his eyes. And then
Brian woke up.
“That was strange.” Brian said. “Why were they happy?” After pondering this for a
while, he suddenly thought of something.
“Didn’t Felanya say I disappeared whenever I woke up?....Then that means...!”

Brian’s eyes widened in shock.
