Are you anti-PSX?
If you are anti-Playstation and simply can-NOT take people rambling about it, stop right now and leave this section. I am going to slam PSX quite a bit, and I don't want people e-mailing me 'bout it. PLEASE don't e-mail me about this except to agree. I do NOT want to hear any, "Oh, man, but Peppy, PSX has ..... which is so much more than Nintendo, and ... All right? Only e-mail me if you wanna say, "Pep, man, I totally agree with you! N64 is so much better than PSX!" or such. Okies? Thanks!
You are the PSX lover. I am the Nintendo lover. Let's see where this goes.

How can you prefer Playstation? -_- I don't LIKE gore. Gore is BAD. I mean, half the games for Playstation all involve blood, shooting, killing, etc. I mean, killing isn't BAD as long as it's happy, IG, Yoshi's Story. Sure, that's killing, and death.. but it's so cute no one cares. And the cursing. Why BOTHER with it? I mean, look at Orge Battle for PSX. Then look at it for Super Nintendo. What's the difference? Besides worse graphics, the text is AWFUL in Ogre Battle! Can they not go 5 minutes without a curse? Of course they can, the loading takes that long.
"Hey! Not ALL games for Playstation are gorey! What about Tomba and Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro?"
*sigh* Do I have to get into this? Crash Bandicoot was boring. It was like a cheap Mario 64 where you could only travel in a straight line. Spyro was awful, easy, and boring. Tomba was just plain stupid. I MUCH prefered Mario 64 over Spyro, Mario Kart 64 over Crash Team Racing, Goemon's Great Adventure over Tomba, and so forth.
"You mentioned above 5 minute loading. You KNOW that's not true, ya big liar!! Most games load up in about 10 seconds. Probably even less! I mean, c'mon, the computer loads up in a LOT more time! It takes a good 30 seconds to connect to the internet!"
And the Nintendo 64 has NO lag time.
"So?? 8 seconds of waiting never killed anyone."
Put this in mind... in Mortal Kombat, lag time waits about 5 seconds before and after each battle, for a total of 10 seconds, right? Supposing you're playing with your friend and battle for 20 times. 20 times 10 is 200, about 3 and a third minutes. That's a long time!
"Umm.. that's not too long."
Compared to about 4 seconds total for Nintendo to PSX's 3 and a third minutes, I'd say it is.
"I'd rather wait the time and get the better gameplay."
Better gameplay?? What do you mean? All most of it is is shooting people or using weapons.
"Now you KNOW that's not true!!!"
Yeah, yeah, I admit it. But PSX games are shorter. I mean, the Spirit Temple from Zelda 64 is about a third of a PSX game!
"Not really..."
Yes, really.
"*sigh* But you can have multiple CD's. FF8 was long as heck!!"
Why bother with 4 CD's when you can have one cartridge? If one CD breaks, you're done! And that's ANOTHER thing! The CD's scratch SO much easier!! And the break like nothing!
"Well, they're more delicate. Just like computer games."
Which are better.
"Why do you hate PSX so much anyway? What did it ever do to you, huh?"
It converted half of my friends to start talking about Playstation games rather than Nintendo 64 games!! And also, less money to Nintendo=less games to come out for Nintendo. And since Nintendo is actually GOOD, I'd rather they came out for Nintendo. And so much is terrible about PSX... like the sound..
"*groan* Hmm, well-"
And graphics! The graphics are so much better. I mean, do the math. 64 > 32 . Figure that out. More bits is more graphics.
"Graphics do NOT make a game!!"
They sure help!!!
"Sure, Nintendo WAS good for RPGs. Even the people who made Quest thought it was bad. Only action-adventure-RPG's are out and that's not really counting. Maybe Harvest Moon 64, but that's part simulation."
Yeah, I'm so sure Final Fantasy 7 was better than Quest 64.
"It was! Everything stunk about it!!!"
What? There were plenty of secrets with the spirits, an AWESOME spell list, an interesting way of leveling up, a bunch of treasures, and hard bosses. What else?
"Well.. bad sound. The music stunk."
Playstation music stinks, too!!
"Sound quality is better on PSX."
I don't think so... I mean, the talking isn't bad, but listen to how clear it is on Star Fox 64. Amazing. There's hardly ANY talking on PSX games.
"Well, Star Fox 64 stunk."
It DID? I thought it was pretty good.
"Back to the music, even NINTENDO admits the music is better on CD's. That's why you have a CD player, not a cartridge player."
I think that CD's are easier to fit and less weight to carry around. But is your Playstation a CD player? No. It concentrates too much on LOADING to have any clues about sound or graphics.
"Ha. Well, still, back to the RPG's.. I still think PSX ones are better!"
HA? Not really! I thought Quest 64 was totally unique and HUGE. The spell system and XP system rawked, like I've said. And Hybrid Heaven! That was quite a surprise. It was excellent to see a fighting RPG. And do Mystical Ninja 64: Starring Goemon and Goemon's Great Adventure count as RPG's? If so, they were incredible. And Harvest Moon 64!! That was a semi-RPG semi-simulation, and the best ever Nintendo 64 game, in my opinion. And what about SNES?? They were the best RPG's EVER. Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 3, incredible.
"Now HOLD up!! I thought this was a N64 vs. PSX debate! Don't drag in Super Nintendo games!"
The title says Nintendo vs. PSX, right? So SNES is okay! And aren't SNES RPG's better anyway?
"I don't think so."
Then why are you HERE at my SNES RPG website?

"To look up Harvest Moon/Pokémon/EarthBound/whatever stuff."
Which was made by Nintendo, or you wouldn't be here.

Watch yer mouth! That's another thing! Many Playstation lovers tend to be a little meaner and... no, wait, I'm sorry. -_- Nintendo lovers are just the same-I've met the meanest PSX lovers, and the meanest Nintendo lovers, nicest PSX and nicest Nintendo, so NM that comment.
"Playstation sold more copies than the Nintendo 64 in it's first month. Did you know that?"
Oh wow, I'm gonna let a bunch of sales influence me. I don't care if more people like the PSX, it's not gonna change MY opinion.
"Well.. Playstation makes better games!"
They make MORE games, you mean.
"Same thing."
Not really... that's like producing 10 pennies or one dollar. Which would YOU rather have? (PS: Thanks to Zach Davis for this idea about the pennies/dollars thingies!)

Right. PSX produces 10 pennies, N64 a dollar.

If you prefer pennies.
"Grrr...You're opinions!"
*shrugs* Game Boy games are every bit as good as PSX games. Since they're not exactly N64 games, I'll make them.. a quarter. PSX games are a penny, Game Boy games a quarter, Nintendo 64 games a dollar. Yes, that's good.
"You mean Game Boy games are WORTH a quarter!"
*eyeroll* That was the worst comeback I've ever heard..
