Believe it or not Game Design has a philosopher and he is Chris Crawford. He has given up on just writing about game design and has developed an interactive technology for story telling. This site contains the content from the Journal of Computer Game Design 1987-1993 and Interactive Entertainment Design 1993-1996, which have still got to be the top sources for learning about game-design.

EDGE

Future Publishing, 30 Monmouth Street, Bath, Banes, BA1 2BW.

Edge is a monthly magazine. It does game reviews and has articles on new hardware and game development personalities and products. The back of the magazine is where the jobs are advertised by the game industry. The editorial is pretty pretentious and Mario and the Nintendo 64 are god in Edge Land. The magazine has never made up its mind as to who it is exactly aimed at, the game development community, hard-core gamers interested in the direction the industry is moving or trendy gamers that must buy everything new and are into dance music and designer clothes as well!
