The story thus far

The setting takes place in a nuclear storage base in Alaska during the 21st century. The base has been seized by a terrorist group by the name Fox Hound. The terrorist group is threatening to use the thousands of nuclear missles if their demands are not met. This is where ex-foxhound member (codename)Solid Snake steps into the picture. Solid must infiltrate the compound in under 24 hours and stop the rebel faction. If he fails, nuclear war may erupt once again.

Fox Hound was actually a government created, military division. They were created to fight terrorists, local rebelions, and regional wars around the world. Their existence was a secret and they were often used when the publicly noticeable military forces was not an option. Than in the 21st century, a special project codenamed spaceseals, created gene enhanced and fortified soldiers within in the Fox Hound division called genome soldiers. These soldiers are deadly and nearly invincible!

Metal Gears in the original "Metal Gear" were massive tanks capable of firing off nuclear missiles. They were a huge influeance during the cold war against russia. Now in "Metal Gear Solid", the tanks have been replaced by giant mechs. These remodeled mechs are many times more deadly than the originals and should they come into the wrong hands they could be extremely destructive.
