- The Craving (1996)
This is it. This is the album which tells me metal is still alive and kicking. This is Dave Mustaine's first solo attempt from his band, Megadeth. Along for the vocals on The Craving is Fear's Lee Ving. Jimmy DeGrasso is on drums, and Kelly Lemieux takes bass. Mustaine's riffs are back to its original fast and fierce power, but as a downer Ving's vocals caught me off guard and took a while to get used to. The real surprise and beauty of this album is its bass component. It's really heavy and full of life with a few solos too. I recommend it to any metal or Megadeth fan.Here's to Gasher.
