I've heard Styx described as a "70's supergroup", translated that means popular rock band of the 70's. They've had a few memorable hits, so I'm told, but overall they sound pretty lame to most people. However, I've made them my hobby and have grown to appreciate their music. There is a certain freedom and lightness about their sound that I admire. None of my friends like them, so I kind of feel as if I have them all to myself. The better of the albums I have are Paradise Theater and Crystal Ball. Would I recommend it to anyone? Nope.

Thanks to Kilroy the Exceptionally Short and the abstract quality of Surrealism for leading me to Styx.
