The feeling of warm water wears off as you emerge from the portal into a dimly lit room with wooden walls on all sides. You feel like you are soaked to the bone, but you look down and your clothes are completely dry. Trying to shake off the wet feeling, you look around the room.

You are standing between two shelves in the middle of one of the four walls. There is but one flickering candle on either side of the room, making shadow's dance around the dark room. The ceiling is about eight feet high, and the room is fairly large. You hear soft, soothing music playing, but cannot locate its source. Most of the room is devoted to large shelves and cabinets. Scrolls and books line the shelves neatly, along with other, smaller, miscellaneous objects. The sections of wall that are not occupied by shelves and tomes bear tapestries, large and small both, of battles or forest scenes, and even one with a large Elven fortress on a waterfront, the sun setting over the mountains in the background.

In the corner of the room to the far right is a large desk covered with parchments, scrolls, ink wells and other objects. A lone chair occupies the desk. On the wall above the desk, you see a large plaque. A bronze plate set upon a polished block of oak reflects the dim light.

In the center of the room is a heavy table standing about one and a half feet high. Around it are several VERY comfortable looking chairs. The table looks like oak, though you can't be sure, and has a large carving in the center. You look closer and see that it is a forest scene with various animals and trees. The artwork is perfectly precise, and breathtakingly beautiful. You reach down and trace you finger along the intricate woodwork, and suddenly another portal appears against a wall with a rush.

As you stand there wondering just how many portals are in this place, a sudden flash and a transparent figure is floating before you.

"Hail and well met friend," the figure says. "I am Taurlin Sylveryth," he says, bowing low. You respond in kind. The man before you is obviously an Elf. He stands about five eight, and looks about one-hundred thirty pounds. He wears the attire of war. Chain mail and a sword at each hip are covered by a dark cloak. A light helm covers long thick hair of a...silver color? "I apologize that I'm not at hand to show thee about my home. Though I see thou hast guided thyself well without my aid!" He smiles and floats to a chair and sits down. "Welcome to my inner study. It is a retreat of sorts. I find much peace inside these walls. I enjoy reading here now and then, or entertaining guests, though I use it mostly for spell research."

But I shan't keep thee from thy snooping," he says, breaking into a wide grin, "so move about my Keep as ye will, and be sure to scribe a message in the Keep Guestscroll." He stands to leave. "May our paths cross again," he says, saluting you with his sword. The image slowly dissipates and is gone.

You look around and see a door in the far wall opposite the portal, that you hadn't noticed before. You walk toward it and it opens slightly. You decide to...
