The scene comes up over the Providence Civic Center in Providence, Rhode Island. An arial view, below people can be seen entering the arena, the parking lot full, and the highway wrapping around it a block away is jammed with traffic. The sun is setting on this small city as the arial view suddenly explodes through the roof and into the arena. Every seat is filled and signs are being waved. As explosions go off from the ringposts and the entryway, the following appears at the bottom of the screen. "Slugfest '99, Live". Slowly the camera comes up facing our announcers for the evening. "The Voice Of The BEW" Marty Scott, Elisha Johnson, and Doug "Vampire Hunter" Torres. The lights come up and the music fades with the pyro. Slowly the fans die down and Marty starts off the broadcast.
Marty Scott: BEW fans everywhere, weeeellllcccoommmeeee! Welcome to Slugfest '99 where Big East Wrestling brings you action like only we can here at the East Coast's Finest! With me are my broadcast partners, Elisha Johnson and Doug Torres.
Doug "Vampire Hunter" Torres: Thanks Marty. Great to be here in Providence for this jam packed card. All titles on the line, one stable war continues, dreams will be fufilled, and hearts will be broken. This truly is the best lineup we have ever had!
Elisha Johnson: Couldn't of put it better myself Doug. Tonight we see the big Virus/Shawn Twilight/Underlord matchup go down. And what role will President Merrix and his taskforce play in that? Not to mention Greg Eskridge, who named himself referee for the main event earlier in the day. We know there's some bad blood between Twilight and Greg, especially after WCIWA Forever a few weeks back.
Marty: Let's no waste anymore time guys. I believe it's time for a small surprise to kick things off as the lights begin to dim here.
The lights dim, leaving a lone spotlight on the entranceway. "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake playing. The fans clap their hands and cheer with anticipation. Finally, just a bit over a minute into the song the chorus hits and out from the curtains walks none other then Kevin Merrix. A pair of black jeans on, some black boots, and a white polo shirt covered by a beatup denim jacket. A few blue and white pyros go of behind him as he walks to the ringside area with a bounce to his steps and a smile on his face. Slapping hands with the cheering fans the whole way.
Craig Conners: Ladies and gentlemen of Providence. It's a privelege to give to you, a man fresh off a victory at the WiW's Last Dance. A well known figure in the professional wrestling world. Mr. Kevin Merrix!
Merrix walks up the ringsteps and gets into the ring. He paces around with his hands on his hips as the fans cheer him on. He goes to each set of buckles and raises his arms into the air. Finally with one last wave he walks back down the ringsteps and takes the empty seat and headset at the broadcast table.
Kevin Merrix: Hey everyone. Doug, what's up?
Doug: Hey Kev man, nothing.
Marty: Nice to have you on hand Kevin. I was a bit shocked when I heard you'd be joining us tonight. Didn't think I'd ever see you here in the BEW.
Kevin: Well stranger things have happened Marty. You must be the lovely Elisha Johnson.
Elisha: Lovely? Yes that's me. Nice to finally get to meet you.
Kevin: Ahhhhhh stop flattering me. Nobody ever likes to see me.
Marty: Folks I hate to break up this nice conversation, but Craig is standing by in the ring for introductions. The stage is all your's Mr. Conners.
Craig Conners: Ladies and gentlemen welcome to Sluuuuuuuuggggggggfest '99! This is the opening bout and it's a special stable match! 4 on 4 competition between the members of the Masters of Armageddon and Reality! Introducing first. They follow the Way of the Future and have stood the test of time. Making this group up are four of it's best, the BEW's very own. They are Vice, Extreme Warrior, Life, and Jimmy Blackwall! The Masters of Armageddon!
Slowly as "Kiling In The Name Of" by Rage Against The Machine plays over the house speakers, the fans boos get louder. Out from behind the curtains come Life, Blackwall, and EW taking up the rear. Strangely there is no sign of Vice. The three walk solemnly to the ring and wait. Talking in one corner.
Craig Conners: And their opponents. Four members of a newly formed stable here in Big East Wrestling. They are out to destroy the MoA and become the elite force in the BEW. They are Jaigo, Jon Clark, Ding, and Shawn Twilight. They are Reality!
"Happypill" by 16 Volt starts to play and the fans give a low cheer as Reality comes out and down the rampway. Cheering because they're trying to hurt the MoA. Oddly enough they have only three members as well. Shawn Twilight visibly absent. They ignore this as best they can as they circle the ring and finally convene in one corner. Blackwall waiting to start the match in the far corner. Jaigo gets off the apron and walks to the announce table, he goes for the headset on one announcer's head, but Merrix gives him a cold stare and he backs off to look for another. Marty gives his up.
Jaigo: Now this is the first time that you'll get to see Reality in the ring working as a well oiled machine. Tonight the MoA will hit a harsh Reality of a serious ass whoopin'!
Jaigo drops the headset to the table and slides into the ring and talks with his two stablemates.
Kevin: Yeah......right.
Elisha: Interesting. But what I want to know is, where are Shawn Twilight and Vice? Both with title shots later tonight maybe they didn't want to risk anything?
Kevin: I can see Shawn not showing. He's nowhere near loyal. Except to himself and his dearly loved family. But that scumbag Vice, odd that he isn't here to order the MoA lapdogs around.
Doug: And it looks like Jaigo is ready to take on Blackwall and there's the bell. Blackwall out slowly and Jaigo sprints out with a springboard dropkick! Jimmy back up quickly and he is met with a forearm smash to the side of the head! These fans solidly behind Jaigo which is surprising!
Marty: Well the MoA has never had a huge fan following. Jaigo sends Jimmy into the buckles and charges, a flip on both hands and he flies in backfirst and smashes Blackwall! What a move! Jaigo with Jimmy in tow runs to his corner and he tags in Jon Clark.
Elisha: It doesn't look to good for Jimmy Blackwall as Jaigo puts him up into suplex position. Clark on the top buckle! And a spike brainbuster?!
Kevin: Well Elisha, whatever it was, poor Jimmy's spine is about four inches shorter. Clark knows this and now he's stomping down onto Blackwall's neck. He has him off the mat and slings him over his shoulder.
Clark attempts a shoulderbreaker but Blackwall slides off and hits him with a lariat, both men fall to the canvas. The members of Reality stomp their feet trying to rouse Clark up to his feet. Blackwall starts to crawl as Clark tries to get on both feet. Once he does Jimmy has already tagged in Life.
Marty: Life is in! Clark turns and they lock up! Clark slaps on a wristlock, reversed by Life, and Life drives a forearm into the elbow joint of Clark! And turns him fast into a DDT!
Elisha: Nice quick move there by Life! Life grabs Clark by the hair and sends him to the ropes, Clark on the rebound, and a high knee to the gut! Clark in pain and Life with a kick to the ribs. He tags to the nearby EW and now Life slaps on an abdominal strech!
With the abdominal strech on, EW starts to drive fists into Clark's ribs. Finally after several shots, Life drops Clark. But as he goes to leave the ring, Ding charges in with a chair. He slams it into the back of Life and knocks him over the top rope. Before long they're both scrapping it out on the floor.
Kevin: While EW executes the side suplex, Jaigo rams Blackwall into the ringpost shoulderfirst. Ding with a stungun onto the railing and the MoA is down on the outside! Back in the squared circle EW has applied a rear chinlock onto Clark.
EW rears back with the chinlock as Ding and Jaigo double team Life with a barrage of fists and kicks. As Ding turns Blackwall clobbers him with a broomstick from underneath the ring. A crack to the back of the head leaves Ding motionless. Jaigo grabs a chair and blocks Blackwall's swing. Jaigo goes for a shot of his own and Blackwall blocks. Life suddenly stops the duel with a kick to the back of Jaigo's knee, causing Jaigo to crumble.
Doug: God this is crazy on the outside of the ring. Reminds me of a time long ago Kev. Back when I was in the ring.
Kevin: Oh god please don't remind us.
Doug: Hey shut up.
Marty: As the brawl is finally settled down on the outside by security, Clark has taken an advantage and is driving EW's head into the buckles, and he turns him into a backslide pin attempt!
1...2...
Elisha: And Blackwall barely made the save there! Clark is a bit tired I'd guess and he makes the tag to Jaigo. Jaigo in and a running elbow sends EW to the ropes, he goes over the top, but lands on his feet. Jaigo not letting up and he nails Extreme Warrior with a jawbreaker on the top rope!
EW falls to the mats below and Jaigo runs the distance of the ropes and comes flying back, sailing over the top with a huge cross body into a splash, which he hits on target. He waits a few seconds to collect his thoughts and goes back to the apron, he climbs the buckles and flies off with an elbow onto the fallen EW.
Kevin: I'll give Jaigo credit. That was one hell of a move. EW looks to be out of it. But don't count him on him to bite the dust just yet. Jaigo rolls him into the ring and covers.
1...2...
Kevin: Told ya so.
Doug: Jaigo picks EW up off the mat and brings him to the Reality corner, Ding raises a boot and EW goes headfirst into it! But hold on EW with a poke to the eye of Jaigo and a chop to the chest of Ding and EW runs across the ring a bit before falling!
Marty: He may of wasted the last of his energy on that outburst. But it was a smart move. Better to do that then get clobbered by the two Reality guys on the outside along with Jaigo.
Elisha: Good point. EW on one knee as Jaigo stalks over him. Jaigo drives a double axe handle into his back and turns him over onto his back. Up and down with a knee to the gut and EW curls up in pain!
Jaigo lifts up EW and attempts a powerbomb, but EW pounds on his skull causing him to fall back to the mat, EW crashes down on his chest knocking the wind out of him.
Marty: Wow! Jaigo is laid out in one fell swoop and Extreme Warrior refuses to go down! EW sits up off Jaigo's chest and very slowly and groggily walks over to his corner, and makes the tag to Life. Life in with full strength and he body slams Jaigo, and again, and a third!
Kevin: Life working fast and rubs his boot into Jaigo's eye. That hurts folks, and you can believe me. Everyone's done it, and everyone's felt it. Life with a Cobra Clutch to follow that little cheapshot up and Jaigo can't last long in this move. Another one I've felt and lost to.
Marty: I hear we have a camera in the back with Price. Good god I hope he doesn't do anything strange.
The scene goes from the action in the ring to a lockerroom. Price is seen standing with the cameraman looking pissed. The camera eavesdrops and he rants and raves about his friendship with Vice being over. Vice has turned his back on 15 years as best friends and tonight all of the fury within him plus the energy that he's going to have to spend to find a new friend is going to be focused on his match. The crowd in the arena is laughing at some of his statements and the scene goes back to the match.
Doug: Jaigo is fading no doubt about it. Life has it on in middle of the ring, and Clark is in and now so is Blackwall!
Marty: Jimmy knocks Clark to the mat fast and kicks him under the bottom rope. The ref ordering Blackwall out and he obliges. Back to the action, Jaigo looks to be out and the ref is checking on him. Look out there's Ding and he did the job Clark couldn't. A boot to the back of Life and Jaigo is sprawled out limply on the mat.
Life pops up and punches Ding in the back of the head as he goes to step through the ropes. He nails a reverse DDT laying Ding out and the ref admonishes him for it. Jaigo starts to stir and Life turns his attention back to him. As he reaches down to lift Jaigo up, he gets a handful of salt to the eyes and Jaigo quickly scurries through Life's legs and makes the tag to Ding.
Elisha: Ding in with a fire in his eyes and he lays into Life with lefts and rights, whip to the ropes, shoulderblock to the mat, he drops an elbow and lifts Life up, locks him in, suplex!
Kevin: That's smart wrestling. Ding not letting up as he continues to pound Life with a legdrop across the chest.
Ding hits the MoA corner and nails EW with a right hand, then clotheslines Blackwall quickly to the mats below. Turning he sees Life on one knee and charges at him, driving a knee to the side of the head. Ding drags Life to his corner and tags to Clark, who gets in and hoists Life up into a suplex, but holds him in mid-air insteading of dropping him.
Marty: Whoa no I don't like the looks of this. This might be another spike brainbuster. Ding climbing the buckles and Jaigo is circling the ring on the outside with a chair. Ding off, and a crossbody onto Life and Clark goes down with the suplex at the same time! Clark covers and Ding heads off EW.
Elisha: Jaigo pummeling Blackwall with a chair.
1...2...3
Craig Conners: Here are your winners, the team of Reality!
Doug: Smart move there by Jaigo to take care of Jimmy Blackwall, and Ding to keep EW from breaking the pin. Reality gets a big win over the MoA, not to many have been able to put a dent in them.
Marty: Well folks after that great opening contest it's time to move on to our first of five title matches. This one for the Hardcore title, a new belt created by President Merrix, Micheal Merrix not Kevin. After an impressive tournament it's come down to this, Craig let's wrap it up.
Craig Conners: Lovers of hardcore wrestling this is the final matchup of the BEW Hardcore title tournament! After several memorable matches two men are left and tonight they will do battle in extreme fashion! Introducing first. A man who has already held gold in Big East Wrestling. A man with one of the best records in the BEW. He is the leader of the MoA. Accompanied by Ravenne and Taylor Smith, he is Vice!
"Killing In The Name Of" starts up for the second time of the evening. The fans send a barrage of boos at the entranceway, but no one appears to take up the spotlight that is shining down on the curtains. After a period of minutes, the lights come up and the music stops. Craig has a bit of a worried look on his face but continues.
Craig Conners: And his opponent. A very odd man. A newcomer to the BEW at the same time. He comes from the mean streets of Miami. He is Price!
"Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor starts playing as Price appears with women, all look to be around 40 years old. The fans cheer and laugh as the women, wearing bikinis, massage Price's shoulders as he stands at the top of the rampway. Price then starts to the ring where he begins shadowboxing around Craig.
Craig Conners: Once again fans, I give to you the Preacher of the Future, Vice!
"You've Got Another Thing Coming" by Judas Priest plays instead of Rage Against the Machine. President Merrix starts to the ring with Thug Immortal, the Underlord, the "New and Improved" Punisher, a young man not seen before, and of course Mikey Firewater is the last guy out. President Merrix gets into the ring and takes the mic from Craig, his four assistants wait at the end of the rampway.
-BEW President Micheal Merrix: Fans welcome to Slugfest '99 and I thank you for your continued turnout. This sellout crowd demonstrates your love of wrestling, specifically BEW wrestling. But I have come out here with some bad news. It would appear that Vice did not show up at the arena for the event tonight, and has apparently called it quits. I am greatly disappointed that I held a tournament only to have the final match end with the belt being handed to someone. But the show must go on, so Price come over here.
Price comes forward as the ref hands the Hardcore title belt to President Merrix. He looks down at it for a second before looking to Price.
BEW President Micheal Merrix: Well it's a unique honor to declare you Price, the first ever BEW Hardcore champion since Vice is not in attendance tonight.
President Merrix hands him the belt and Price takes it, he looks at in disbelief and drops to his knees. He wipes away some fake tears and acts as if he's won a long grueling battle. He jumps up and hugs President Merrix and holds the belt high. He drops the belt and looks to the ref, he runs at him and nails a superkick to his jaw knocking the ref out cold. He starts to do a stupid looking dance after hitting him and the fans laugh. They recognize it as the "Dirty Bird".
Marty: That would be the new finisher I hear Price has. "No Clue" is what it's called. Obviously he didn't plan on leaving without using it. Poor ref Joey Fenkle doesn't know where he is.
Suddenly from over the railing, Vice pops out with a chair and some handcuffs. He nails Price in the back of the head with the chair and drives it down into the back of his neck over and over again. President Merrix goes to join his associates as Vice takes the Hardcore title and starts to smash Price with it. Finally cuffing one hand and dragging Price to the ropes, where he handcuffs his other hand to the middle rope. Vice grabs the chair from the mat and smashes Price over the head, busting him open. The fans boo at this but Vice ignores them as he starts to lay in with kicks to the unconscious Vice. Finally spitting on him, he turns and looks to the announce table, at Kevin Merrix, who removes his headset and stands slowly. Fans cheering him on he walks around the table and grabs a chair. He throws it over the top rope and Vice slowly takes his exit through the crowd. Vice ignores Merrix as he slides into the ring and yells at him to come back. A new ref has come out of the back and checks on Price with medical officials. Merrix returns to his seat as they take Price and the old ref away on strechers. President Merrix gets back into the ring, which is now empty. Some bloodstains on the canvas.
Doug: Have fun?
Kevin: (Out of breath) Always.
BEW President Micheal Merrix: Well after that outburst on the part of Vice. I have still decided to award Price the Hardcore title. However, Vice, if you don't decide to be a quitter, you will have a title shot waiting for you. Now to my second order of buisness tonight. No, it's not about the Venerial Disease, you'll wait and see him drop his belt later. No, this deals with the Television title match. As you know Smokey hasn't been seen in weeks. After being injured under shady circumstances, he was off rehabilitating. He was cleared to wrestle tonight, but he however requested his release from the BEW. We have lost one of the BEW originals. But we will move on.
The fans boo.
BEW President Micheal Merrix: Therefore I declare that the challenger to the title, Jonathan Prophet, is the new BEW Television champion!
"Living Dead Girl" by Rob Zombie suddenly floods the arena and the fans start to boo, a few hardcore Prophet fans cheer as Jon appears, dressed in black leather in full priest's clothes. A woman, about five foot nine walks at his side wearing a black leather body suit. She has a supermodel's build and red hair. A teardrop tatoo under her right eye, she is a familar woman from Prophet's interviews. He looks to be a little out of it as you look into his bloodshot eyes. He has a roll of barbwire in hand as he steps through the ropes and into the ring. Staring President Merrix down coldly.
BEW President Micheal Merrix: Thanks for coming out here Jon, pleasure to see you as always. As Owner of the BEW I'm here to award you the Television title since you are the number one contender. Here you are.
President Merrix hands the Television title, which hasn't been seen in a while, to Jon who swipes it fast. President Merrix backs away from the wild eyed Prophet and leaves with his entourage as Jon straps the belt around his waist. He looks off into the crowd and Thug Immortal charges down the aisle. The fans go crazy for him as he slides into the ring. Jon sees him but it's to late as Thug kicks him in the gut and slams him down onto his back. His head bounces off the mat. Thug lifts him off the mat and locks in the Down South Slayer. The fans go crazy. Finally Prophet's lady friend gets into the ring with a chair and goes to whack Thug, but Thug ducks out of the way. He grins at her and begins to leave. Talking trash at the fallen Prophet the whole time. Finally Jon gets up and looking focused again, he angrily charges up the aisle looking for Thug Immortal.
Craig Conners: BEW fans let us continue on with Slugfest '99 with a ladder match for the BEW Atlantic title! Introducing first I give you the challenger. He is a living legend in this sport and the only 4-Time MWWF World champion. He has also defeated countless men in his goal to become one of the best. Ladies and gentlemen from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Maniac!
"Turn The Page" by Metallica starts up and the fans hit their feet to cheer. The lights dim slightly and a few pyrotechnics go off for Maniac as he steps out from behind the curtains and strides to the squared circle and waits.
Craig Conners: And his opponent, the BEW Atlantic champion, standing at six feet seven inches and weighing 245 pounds, Jaigo!
"What's Your Alias" by Mystikal hits the speakers and the loudest boo of the night is heard. Jaigo runs down the aisle fast, the Atlantic title in hand, he drops it as he slides under the bottom rope and starts to throw punches at Maniac.
Marty: And what a start to this match! Jaigo getting the advantage with his punches and he starts to choke Maniac with both hands. This match is no dq folks so look for alot of that. The ref is now having the belt suspended above the ring.
Elisha: And Maniac gets his eyes raked and Jaigo deposits him over the top rope. Jaigo out after him and Maniac spears him to the mats in retaliation! Maniac lays in with a few closed fists and follows up with an Irish whip to the steps! Jaigo left holding his right shoulder.
Maniac grabs a chair and opens it up, with Jaigo in tow he bulldogs him onto it. Leaving Jaigo with a small cut above his right eye. Maniac shuts the chair and slams it across Jaigo's back before going over to the ladder. He closes it and puts it over the top rope. Maniac follows it in and Jaigo comes to just in time to slide into the ring with the chair left behind by his opponent.
Doug: And Jaigo has that chair and cracks Maniac over the head! Jaigo props the ladder over the top rope and jumps out to the apron. Maniac turns holding his forehead, and Jaigo drops from the apron while pulling that ladder down!
Kevin: Ouch! Maniac just took the end of that ladder into the kisser with that seesaw style motion, and he falls back to the mat. Jaigo back in and opens the ladder up. He grabs Maniac and whips him to the ropes, catches him on the way back, and throws him into that ladder ferociously!
Maniac falls over the top rope along with the ladder, which slides down into his chest after he hit the floor. Jaigo goes out after him and throws the ladder off. After several stomps to the chest, Jaigo grabs a fan's coffee and pours it into Maniac's eyes. Maniac kicks around in pain and Jaigo pulls him to his feet with a handful of hair.
Marty: Jaigo taking matters into his own hands! He brings Maniac over in front of the Spanish announce table and he goes for a powerbomb! But the veteran Maniac blocks this and Jaigo can't get him up! Maniac reverses and Jaigo is put ontop of the table with a back body drop!
Maniac hops onto the table and slams a monitor into Jaigo's kidney area. Maniac then reaches down and helps Jaigo to his feet. He locks him into a suplex and holds him in mid-air above the table. Cameras go off all over the arena and Maniac drops Jaigo headfirst from mid-air with a gourdbuster. Causing him to crash through the table in a mess of table wreckage.
Kevin: Sweet Jesus! That was great! I see Maniac starting to stir, Jaigo is out like a light. Maniac stands and catches his breath while holding onto the apron, and now going to get Jaigo.
Doug: Damn Jaigo is busted open from the top of the head. Maniac slams him headfirst into the side of the apron and rolls him in. Now getting that ladder he sends it sailing over the top rope. Jaigo seems to be back in this as he's trying to prop himself up using the ropes. What a fighter he is
Elisha: He is Doug. But Maniac knows it and he's going to put an end to it.
Maniac rubs Jaigo's eyes on the ropes fast and turns him over so he's laying backfirst on them. He lays in with a few chops then whips Jaigo to the ropes. Jaigo hops over the ladder in the middle of the ring, Maniac charges with a clothesline and Jaigo ducks. On the rebound Jaigo catches Maniac with a Tornado DDT onto the ladder, leaving both men sprawled out.
Marty: Oh my! Jaigo came off fast with that Tornado DDT and Maniac is stunned, and I see blood coming out of the top of his head to compliment that blood coming from his mouth. Jaigo kips up and he's back in this!
Doug: That's why he's the Atlantic champ. He beat Vice fair and square to win it.
Kevin: Who hasn't?
Doug: Well.....as I was saying he won that gold and hasn't slowed down much since. He's definitely a BEW mainstay.
Jaigo lays back on the buckles and waits, Maniac rolls off of the ladder holding the top of his head, finally getting onto both feet. Jaigo runs out and Maniac goes for a right hook which Jaigo ducks under and follows up with an uppercut, staggering Maniac. Jaigo bounces up and follows that uppercut up with a hurricarana onto the ladder.
Elisha: What a move there by Jaigo! Very fast pace going on here and Jaigo rolls Maniac to the side so he can open that ladder. He has it open and now Jaigo's going to climb. These fans are cheering for Maniac to get up, Jaigo is halfway up that ladder.
Marty: Maniac stumbling around and he sees Jaigo who's almost to the top. It's a race against time!
Doug: Jaigo reaches up....
