A LITTLE ABOUT ME.
G'day.
I'm Gen_Lee. I am a 27 year old West Australian, who obviously has a keen interest in the Civil War - the Confederates in particular. I am a highschool english teacher, but don't let that fact bore you to tears lol :)
My hobbies are pretty varied. I am into computers quite heavily, and am just starting out on webpage design (thus the confused html source code). I also build model railways - for those of you who think "Zzzzzzzzzzzzz" at this, do yourself a favour and go see a well laid out track. They really are quite a sight!!!
My biggest hobby by far though, is learning about the Civil War. I collect films and books on the subject, as well as collecting and painting scale minatures of the actual troops and equipment. I haven't actually managed to use these in a wargame yet - there aren't too many Civil War wargamers where I live :(
Probably due to the lack of human opponents, I stumbled across an excellent series of computer games : The BATTLEGROUND series by Talon Soft. Their Civil War games (Gettysburg, Shiloh, Antietam and Bull Run) are excellent - and by the way, I am always on the lookout for a new 'play by email' opponent. Any Americans want to see what the South could have done if they were led by an Aussie?
Lastly, a short collection of things I consider cool; South Park - Just you wait till Kenny decides 'Enough is Enough', The X-Files - Is it just me? or is there something incredibly sexy about Scully?, Leisure Suit Larry - I'm sad to say he scores more points than me :(, The Rugrats - Phil and Lil forever, Battletech/Mechwarrior - something about being in a huge mech and having a bad attitude :), James Bond - well the older ones anyway (Sorry but Tomorrow Never Dies is awful :P), Beer - cold Emu Bitter (West Australian brew)...don't you Americans be fooled by the garbage we export..it's just that no-one here will drink it ......and lastly IRC - chatting is a lot of fun :) If you ever see Gen_Lee around, come and say G'day :)
