Today Jeff (a good friend of mine) and I took his boat out to Rend Lake today. He caught a fairly good size crappie (about 6 inches or so) and I caught my very first catfish ever. It wasn't very big as far as cats go, only about 11 or 12 inches, but it was my first. I've heard a lot of people talking about the kind of fight they put up, and now I'm convinced. The crappie was caught using a blue and white jig while the catfish was caught using a nightcrawler. The only other thing we caught besides those two fish were some pretty bad sunburns. I have a picture of my sunburn below, but none of the fish. (I just decided to make this journal page today, so from now on I'll take the camera fishing with me.)
