SIMIAN ACRES in PLATINUM TIME

A Platinum time comes fairly easy on this level for most people, but proves to be frustrating for others. You will need to get a jet start to get a Platinum on this level. Unfortunately, Simian Acres is one of the most difficult levels to get a jet start on. For one thing, there is an obstacle in the way (a tree) that you have to turn to avoid after the jet start. You could turn before the jet start, but chances are you'll run into the railing on the bridge. The other is that the "window" for a jet start on this level is very small. You have to press start just after the starting text rolls completely off the screen. Even then, it is very difficult to get the jet.

Stay just to the right of the two trees after the start. Crash through the left railroad warning light rather than taking the road. The first two buildings are easy, but pay attention to the L-shaped barn (building 3)… you have to take out every section. Veer back to the right to get the two sections on the right of building 4 and then stay right until you get through the green swamp. Don’t bounce off the fence or the two buildings after the swamp and you’re home free. Plow into building 7 to stop the clock.

SIMIAN ACRES in WORLD CLASS TIME

The difference between a 14 second run and one under :13 is very subtle, but a sub :13 run still won’t come easy. Don’t make any sudden turns. You can destroy a section by grazing the edge of it instead of plowing into the middle. Find the straightest line by trial and error. If you want a 12.8 or better, just don't quit.
