This is a journal about my explorations in L'halaa V'Road. It is a truly amazing and special place.

I wrote this age by myself, and I am truly proud of it. It was meant to be a calm and quiet place that my husband and I could go to together. Lavender and lilac are so refreshing and calming. But alas, it was not meant to be. From what I can gather, my husband did not make it out of D'ni during its destruction. I escaped, but just barely. You see, I took with me one Rechvor. I also took 2 writing books, ink, and anything else I thought that I would need. I burned all my extra copies of the linking books to L'halaa V'Road except one. (I wanted to be able to return.) As I linked into L'halaa V'Road, my last copy fell into the burning fire. Now I was truly alone. (So I thought!)

I think that I need to go back in the story and tell about what has happened. I was one of the first women to be accepted into the Guild of Caterers. It was because of my special talent for garnishing and cake baking/decorating. I was very proud of my accompishments. In fact, I was one of the many workers who prepared for the feast to celebrate the tunnels to the surface! (It had been such an exciting time for all of us!) We got the food from so many different ages, and we spent days preparing for the celebration. And what a feast it was. After the festivities, I went to L'halaa V'Road for the very first time...

So I had come to L"V to rest and recover from all that work. When I arrived, I was overwhelmed by the sweet fragrance in the air. My husband, M'Kiy-ehl, had added so many sweet smelling flowers for me! I looked with amazement at the trees around us. They were very tall, but they did not have wide branches. The branches seemed to hang down like vines. I examined the leaves. Hmmm, heart-shaped leaves. (I had put that there to symbolize our love! I was afraid that it wouldn't work!) I showed it to M'kiy-ehl. He thought that was such a romantic idea. Together we walked out of the forest in search of a place to leave our linking book (to D'ni).

We found ourselves in a gigantic field. This field was covered with jasmine and lilac. So that is where the fragrance had come from. We had arrived at dusk. I looked up into sky to see a SILVER sun setting to my right, and two purple moons slowing rising to my left. The colors mixed beautifully! Streaks of silver and purple covered the sky. Truly a masterpiece! I was astounded by the sight. After a moment, I pulled out some of my supplies, and I began to work in my journal, while M'kiy-ehl worked on the map. .....

According to our writings, we figured there should be a lake straight ahead, and a cabin to our right. Since it was getting late, we figured we would go to our cabin. When we got to it, we were pleased to see it was just the way we had planned. It had a large table with a few sturdy chairs, and a big fire place. We had figured that we wouldn't need it for heat, but we would have to cook on something. I loved the big window on the eastern side. It faced the lake, and the sunrise would look spectacular. Since by now the hour had grown late, we decided to continue our explorations tomorrow.

I felt warm. It soon dawned on me that it was a new morning in our new age. Anxious to see our age in the day, I quickly dressed and rushed outside. There, in all its glory, was sunrise. The soft silver light bounced off the lake I could see in the far distance. I ran inside to get my [special] glasses. Although the sun was not terribly bright, it was still to bright for me. by now, M'Kiy-ehl had woken up. We prepared ourselves for a full day of exploring.

We headed down to the lake. We walked through the field of flowers. The smell surrounded us, and left us both with a peaceful feeling. Behind us was the forest. The hike was a quick and easy one. We found ourselves at the lake. The sand felt warm, but not too hot. The flowers grew very close to the beach, and we could still smell their sweet fragrance. I looked carefully into the water as M'kiy-ehl began the experiments. (He was testing the water.) As I glanced down in the water, I saw our fish. Tiny little purple fish. Their silver eyes looked up at me. They did not have real scales, but a feathery-looking skin. I reached out, and tried to grab one, but it darted away. I wandered over to the dock to look at the boat. It was a sturdy boat, with both a sail and oars. I looked to the left, and saw the mountain. It wasn't a huge mountain. I called out to M'kiy-ehl that I wanted to take the boat over to the mountain. He grunted softly while he continued at his work. I headed off towards the mountain. As I was rowing, I started to think of a name for this age. ... nothing came to me as of yet...

I reached the other shore, and looked for the dock. After I tied the boat down, I started towards the mountain. I found a small trail, and started to follow it. It began a simple and easy path, but soon became hard to follow. I got worried to be traveling on my own, and looked back at M'kiy-ehl. I couldn't see him, and decided that I needed to return.

Leesahn 28

I got back as quickly as I could. M'kiy-ehl was in trouble. He had gone into the water, and some fish had attackted him!!! That should not have happened. I helped him up the shore, and somehow we made it back to the cabin. I gathered our stuff, and we prepared to go home. This was not at all what we had planned.

When we returned to D'ni, we pulled our our writings, and began to search where the problem might be. Hours passed, and neither of us could find the answer. Later that evening, M'kiy-ehl's father came by to see him. M'kiy-ehl explained what had happened to him, and showed him his wounds. m'Vir, my father-in-law, looked over our notes, and our books. In a matter of minutes, he showed us the problem. We were relieved to see that it was easy to fix. After the corrections were made, we decided to wait until M'kiy-ehl was completely healed before returning. So we went about our business in D'ni, and put L'halaa V'Road out of our minds. We had planned to return in a week, but that is when all the madness occured. Now I found myself in my age, all alone!

That mountain really interests me. Once again, I started off for the mountain. This time, I am not going to go up the mountain. I want to try and go AROUND! I headed off to the right side of the mountain. As I was walking along the shore, I looked over the lake. I wonder if the corrections we had made worked. (I certainly wasn't going to go into the water to find out!) In the far distance, I noticed a long, giant sea serpent! Ugh, where did that come from? I looked into the water, and saw that the fish had changed. Before they had what appeared to be feathers on their bodies. Now it looked like hair. Fish with long hair! It was actually funny to see! It was the first time since I left D'ni that I had smiled. Along the base of the mountain, flowers grew. More types than I could name. I was almost dizzy from the sweet smell in the air. I hiked along the side of the mountain/shore for a good part of the morning. Towards midday, I reached the end of the shore-line. Ahead of me, the land was level. To my right, it spread out for as far as the eye could see. Behind me was the lake. I decided to go towards the mountain. I looked around, and noticed a path. It was a smooth path, almost seemed manmade.

I sat down, and quietly ate lunch. I also rested a while, as I had grown weary. I just couldn't go any further. I would have to stay here for the night. I looked around for a suitable place to stay. Not far from where I had lunch was a small cave. This would be perfect for the night. I wrote everything in my journal, and quickly began to sketch a map. I watched the silvery sun set, and the two purple moons rise. Now the world was covered with a soft purple glow. I looked to the sky, and saw tiny green and fuscia lights. It was a stunning sight. The purple hue the moons cast made the stars appear to be two different colors. It was at this point that I had found a name for this strange and beautiful land ~ L'halah V'Road. This means "the Purple Night". It was an awesome sight to witness, too incredible to write about!

It has been a while since I have written. In the morning, I continued along my way. I found a long rope bridge. It went over a deep canyon. Looking down, I saw a river flowing. It was a rich purple, thick, like gravy. I held onto the sides, and slowly made my way across. It was then that I noticed my first person. I ran and hid behind a bush. A young girl, not more then 8 or 9 walked by. She was dressed in a simple manner. She was barefoot, and carrying a basket on her head. In the basket, I saw many berries and fruit. She bravely walked across the bridge, without even looking below! I watched where she went. She disappeared down the other side of the mountain. I couldn't be sure if the people were friendly, so I continued down this side of the path. The path was narrow, and steep. As I approached the river, I heard a cry or scream. I rushed to the river bank and there I saw....

Leetar 5

I saw a person, in the water. Now this was not ordinary water. It was very thick. It was a deep purple, almost black. There were no trees around here, and the sand was a light purple. I had no time to study my surroundings. I looked toward the water, and saw the woman was struggling to get out. She was up to her waist in the slop! I looked around to see if there was anyone who would help her, but this beach seemed to be deserted. I glanced behind me, and saw a tree that had fallen over. I grabbed a big branch, and pulled with all my might. After pulling and tugging for a while, the branch finally broke free. I ran over to the shore, and stuck out the branch. The woman said something that I didn't understand. She was pointing behind me, so I turned to look. However, there was nothing to see. As I got closer to the water, I noticed that it had a strange pattern in it. The woman was able to grab onto the branch, and I tried to pull her in. The water was so thick. Using the branch for support, she fought with all her might. Finally, she stepped onto the beach. From her waist down, she had dark red welts and blisters on her body. I pulled a blanket out of my backpack, and wrapped it around her. She laid down on the beach, and fell asleep. I wasn't sure if it was because she was tired from fighting the water, or from shock. I went over to the path, and looked to see if any of her people were around. But alas, I saw no one. What could I do to help this woman?

Leetar 7

I was almost in panic about this whole situation. I desperatly wanted to help this poor woman, but I had no idea how to do it. I ran back towards the mountain, and as I did, I noticed a man running towards her. He was dressed in very simple and plain clothes. I could tell that these people were advanced. (I was relieved to see that they were not so primative!) This stange man ripped a large leaf off a tree, and began to rub it all over her body. I did not recognize the language they were speaking, but I could tell that they were trying to help her. Summoning all my courage, I ran over, and tried to help. The man turned to me. "Who are you?", he asked. I was in a state of shock! How did he know and understand my language??? "I am K'Laydee, from the city of D'ni", I replied. "Good, then you can help me. She has suffered from terrible burns from this river. You continue to rub the Ah-loh leaf on her, and hopefully, she will recover."

I did as he had said. After a few minutes, she began to stir. I wasn't sure what I should be doing now. I looked to him, and asked, "Who are you, and how did you get here?" He then began to tell me his story.

"I am To'rahves, and I, too, have come from D'ni! When the terrible destruction began, I was choked with fear? Where could I run to hid? I saw a man helping many into the linking books. When I ran to him for help, he sent me to his home, and told me to come to this age. When I got to his home, I found no one there. There was a fire burning in the fireplace. I saw a linking book there, and pulled it out. Thankfully, it wasn't too badly burned. I opened it, and linked here, making sure that it fell back into the fire. I had figured that whoever had burned the book, had their reasons. I didn't know if I would find a liveable age, but it was better than awaiting my fate in D'ni. Unfortunatly, I have no other linking book, so I am stuck here!"

When To'rahves had finished, I didn't know what to say. Obviously, it was Mi'kiy-ehl who had helped him. Now I began to cry. "Do you know what happen to the man who helped you?", I asked. "I am so sorry, but I do not.", To'rahves answered. "We need to keep rubbing her. I saw how you saved this woman. It was very good that you didn't go into the river. It isn't water, but a chemical. I don't know exactly what it is, but it will burn you. This plant helps to relieve the burns."

Leetar 8

We continued to work on the woman for some time. Finally, our hard work began to pay off. She opened her eyes. "Mah shlom'cha?", To'rahves asked her. "Ahnee b'seder" is what she replied. I asked To'rahves what was going on. He had asked her how she was, and it seems she was doing fine. I couldn't imagine how he learned the language of these people in such a short time.

We helped the woman to her feet. M'saree, the injured woman's name, was able to walk for a short distance. After a few times of starting and stopping, To'rahves decided to go back to her village for help. I sat with this woman, and kept her company. One time, I went down to the river to get a closer look at it. M'saree began to scream. I ran to her, but she seemed alright. I thought that she was warning me to stay away from the river.

Even though I had saved this woman's life, I didn't feel up to meeting her people. While M'saree was sitting on the shore, she fell asleep. Here was my chance. I drew a big "smiley face" in the sand, and headed towards the other side of the mountain. Near this mountain, there was a large forest. There were incredibly tall trees. The leaves on the trees were a bright purple, while the bark was a pale orange! Never in my life had I seen such trees. They were so tall, I couldn't even tell where they ended and the sky began!

Leetar 9
As I reached the edge of the mountain, I heard voices. I ran to hide behind a tree, and watch what was happening. In horror, I watched as the people picked up M'saree, and THREW HER BACK INTO THE RIVER!!!! Fearing for my own life, I ran blindly into the forest. To'rahves must be mad! Why did we save this poor woman, when they were just going to kill her anyway?

For a brief moment I thought that maybe To'rahves was also in danger, but I felt it was too risky for me to try to go back to see. Sadly I realized that I was once again all alone.

The silver sun started to set. It was difficult to see, because very little light got in here. Soon, the two beautiful moons came up. I took off my glasses, and tried to figure out where I was. It was a lot easier to see, because the trees were thinning out. The mountain was on my right now. I would try to stay close to the mountain, in hopes of reaching my boat. At this point, I was overcome by exhaustion. I laid down on the ground, and went to sleep.

In the morning, I reached into my bag, and found that I was almost out of food. Things were starting to look bad, indeed. I walked, and walked, and walked. Then, as suddenly as the forest started, it ended. There, to my far right, was my boat. I don't think I was ever so grateful to see ANYTHING in my whole life. I got into the boat, and rowed back to my side of the lake. It was even comforting to see the funny little hairy fish.

One fish kept following the boat. When I got to the dock, I tied up the boat, and started back to the cabin. As I was walking away, I heard a sloshing sound. I turned around and saw a fish walking towards me. I simply fainted. When I came to, the fish was still there. It was making a wierd sound, like "mee-uuff". I jumped up and ran to the cabin. I had to get back to D'ni. We really messed up when we created this age.

As I ran into the cabin, I bumped into a person...This pushed me over the edge, and I just stood there and screamed!!! When I opened my eyes, I saw it was my very own M'kiy-ehl! I pointed to the fish, and screamed some more! (I must have been in shock.) "K'Laydee, that is our friend. I have named her G'filteh", M'kiy-ehl explained. This was all too much for me. A hair fish, our pet? M'kiy-ehl, here with me?

"What is going on here? Am I asleep?", I asked.

Leetar 12

I went into the cabin, and fell asleep with my clothes on. When I woke up, I felt totally refreshed. Unbeknownst to me, I had slept through 2 straight days! I sat up, and realized that I was famished! M'Kiy-ehl brought me a tray with breakfast on it. After I ate, we began to speak. It seems that M'Kiy-ehl had escaped from D’ni right before the vapor gas got to everyone. M'Kiy-ehl helped quiet a few people by bringing them to our age. It seems that they have set up a colony a days journey from our cabin. I felt that this was too good to be true. I asked him how this happened. “Well, when I heard the explosion, I pulled the linking book out of my pocket. I saw your good friend Maga, and pulled him aside. I told him to run as fast as he could to get his wife and small baby. I was down by the tunnels, far from where the poison gas was coming from. Maga returned, and he and his family linked here. I allowed a few more of our close friends to link here, but I was terribly worried about you. I sent a fellow guildsman, Jo-rahves to get you. When he didn’t return, and the noxious gas was approaching, I linked here. I felt terrible, because I held the book over a deep cavern. I knew that as I linked, this linking book to L’halaa V’Road would be gone for ever, but who knew who would find the book, and what could happen! I am very happy that both of our parents made it. They are waiting for us in our new home. I have been coming here off and on for the last week hoping you would show up!”

I was amazed by all that M'Kiy-ehl had told me. People had escaped!!! I was not all alone as I had previously thought! I told M'Kiy-ehl all that had happened to me. I still did not understand what had happened to that poor women in the chemical water. Maybe it had been a mistake for M'Kiy-ehl to allow To'rahves to come to our beautiful age!

Leetar 13

I looked around our cabin, and had to see that we would be much better off living in a community of people from D’ni. We packed up all of stuff, and headed off towards our new life.

As we left, G’filte came up to us. Once again, I was scared. This fish was not a regular fish. It was very large, with two big flippers that it used to “walk” with. It had a very small head with extremely long wiskers. It was covered with a purple fur, or hair. M'Kiy-ehl was stroking it, and finally sent it back into the water. G’filte had saved M'Kiy-ehl’s life when he first came here. M'Kiy-ehl had been so concerned about me! When he first arrived, he had noticed that the boat was missing, and tried to swim across the lake to get me. Well, he was halfway across, when he got a cramp in his side. He started to go under, when this thing (later named G'filte) came under him, and pushed him to the surface. This wonderful fish then pushed him to the shore, and stayed with him for a long while. No wonder M'Kiy-ehl loves him so much. It appears that this is not a fish, but some type of a land/sea animal.

Leetar 17

We walked over a hill, and I saw the land unfolding below us. To the right, as far as the eye could see was a sea of flowers, all shades of purple. The aroma was overpowering! I stood there for a moment, and just studied the field that lay there. I had an overwhelming desire to just run through the field, but I held myself back, just gazing at the beauty. In the very far off distance, I could make out the figure of a mountain. As I turned to gaze at the left, I saw grass, which this time was green. There was a small pond, surrounded by trees and small flowers.

“Well, where are we headed to?”, I asked M'Kiy-ehl.

“We are going to that far mountain. At the base of the mountain, we have begun to build a city. At first, we had assumed that we were going to have to live underground. But the sun here is not as strong as we had first thought, so therefore we can live on the surface!” My heart nearly skipped a beat! To live on the surface, what a wonderous thing. I was filled with excitement. We started to walk beside the field of flowers. (I actually think that at this point I was becoming intoxicated with the heavenly smell!) As we walked, we talked of the destruction, and the friends that we were missing. I had mentioned that I had run into To-rahves, and I told of the chemical water incident.

“Ah,” M'Kiy-ehl said. “I feared that he would be trouble. I am terrible sorry that I brought him here. When we were in D’ni, he tried to rally the working class together. He was punished, of course, but it seems like he hasn’t changed. He always wanted to be a god. I guess he now has his wish. But this is still troubling news!”

“Well, M'Kiy-ehl, I do have some news that I think will prove to be exciting, and happy!”, I said shyly....

Leetar 22

We stopped under an tremendous tree. The trees branches spread out widely, and provided a lot of shade. We sat and ate lunch. I told M'Kiy-ehl that the destruction of D’ni was in the past, and it was our job to rebuild a new empire. M'Kiy-ehl patiently said that he was trying to do just that. He had carefully selected people (in all the chaos and madness that ensued on the brink of the destruction) who would help to rebuild what was lost. He had gathered people from many different guilds, and even managed to grab a lot of books, ink, and other supplies we would need to start over! Imagine, he did this all in a blink of an eye!

“No, M'Kiy-ehl, I don’t mean to physically rebuild D’ni. I mean to have our next generation built up. I am carring your child! New D’ni life is growing!” I was so excited, I could scarcly breathe!

M'Kiy-ehl answered, “This is the best news I have heard in days!” And so we headed off to the base of the mountain, to start a new life, with our new life....

...to be continued!?! Check back to see how the new D'ni is rebuilt! Is To'rahves going to cause trouble for this peace loving people????

Finally, the story continues!
