Mirkwood Mud

Initially, I have always preffered Arctic Mud, however, I realise I was wrong. Mirkwood wasn't scheduled to be included in this update, however we had a request to check it out so we did. It was definitely not time wasted. I take my hat off to Mirkwood. An incredible mud that just steals the hours of continuous play.

Yet again, we turned into a bunch of schoolgirls when we logged on a character and they asked us if we want colour. Yes It is in colour. For some weird reason colour adds a whole new aspect to this mud. Anyway, the mud is brought to life through this colour and makes it that bit more interesting.

This mud does have a few minor problems but the good far outweighs the bad (anyway the bad is just stuff that picky people like us tend to spot when everyone else is slotting mobs). So what does this mud have to offer? loads... Firstly they have this direction technique that is pretty different. Instead of the usual n,s,e,w, options sometimes you can also go through things such as parlours, caves, cracks, portals, etc. It is usually a fancy name for one of the basic directions but it does add a new sense of reality to this mud and it makes me feel special. They have the usual Mud School and a pretty comprehensive map that is real easy to follow.

The attendance for this mud is good too. Not too many people as to make it cluttered but still enough to keep things interesting and active. Friendly players too, it isn't a pk-ing mud so that accounts for alot. Turning mirkwood into a killing field would drop the popularity considerably. I haven't had much interaction with the immortals, but they seemed like a genuinely nice folk, There was one who seemed to answer with cocky remarks but it was hard to determine whether he was being funny or just ego-ing out. Overall, they seemed really nice.

Now, on to the bad. As we said not much in the way of bad in this mud but there are a few nicks and picks. Firstly we had major money and food problems. Whether or not this is due to the building they are currently doing, we cannot say, but my character ate 12 rolls and was still not full. The characters get hungry quite easily and finding money to support these hungers is kinda difficult(*Just to emphasize, that we did not get any help from anyone on what to eat to get full. Please refer to the feed back page for further information). The main point is that while the map of the city is very good, I couldn't find anything to guide me outside of the city.

Advice: Well this mud is definitely the place for beginners, but it is also very good for advanced users. If you like the nice quite atmosphere shared with up to 60 people, then this is the mud for you. Definitely worth a try, follow the links below or just click the logo at the top of the page. Give it a try you will not regret it.
